    McIntosh Receiver with 804N's?

I have a McIntosh 4300V receiver (100 wats per channel into 4 or 8 ohms). It's about 15 years old, and I was wondering whether its amp would be sufficient enough to run a pair of Nautilus 804's. I understand from the threads that the Mac separate amps would work great, but I'm wondering whether this would hold true for my Mac receiver as well. Thanks for the input...

Do you have the 804's now, or you are going to buy them?

I plan on buying them. I can get my hands on a pair for about $1200, which seems too good to pass on.

        McIntosh Receiver
        by JesseRJ
I am new here so I hope this is the right forum for this topic. I wrote on the Rotel Club forum about going to a high-end dealer today. I have B&W 802s and am planning a home theatre setup in our apartment living room. The salesman recommended that instead of Rotel, I purchase the McIntosh receiver...

        hello all,
I'm considering trying out Lexicon. Over the years I have been very Impressed with there performance, built quality. I have read about but not heard first hand this Rv-8 receiver. I owned the B&K avr307 and felt it was ever bit as good as most lower end seperates with being all...

Testing B&W with McIntosh & Marantz
        by audioqueso
I'm curious about a test I want to do. So I would like to get people's opinion about this test.

I have $4-5k budget that I have to improve my B&W Nautilus 805/HTM2 setup. I currently have a Marantz SR7002 AV receiver powering them.

I've been wanting to audition McIntosh...

Amp for 803s or 804s... Mac SS or RB-1080?
        by argomart
I used to own a pair of B&W 703s and drove it with a McIntosh MA6500 solid state amp. It sounded great in a 12 x 12 room (9ft ceilings); more power than I could most of the time.

I had always planned on trading up to the 804s, but through an odd fluke, the dealer allowed me to go...
