The one of the boxes is on the home cinema french site for B&W's 800 Series club and the other 2 are my friend in Switzerland with a pair of 800D's HTM1D driven by 1201 Mac's

The only thing that totally turns me off regarding the HTM1D is it sits floor level and can sound a little boxey. How do you tilt it up? It's odd.Originally posted by misterdoggyThe one of the boxes is on the home cinema french site for B&W's 800 Series club and the other 2 are my friend in Switzerland with a pair of 800D's HTM1D driven by 1201 Mac's
LISTEN BW tech's:
What would be nice is a stand with the 800D columns on a base the shape of the stand for the HTM2D.

I think the HTM1D was actually designed to be at floor level wasn't it ??- Bottom

Hey, hey, hey, that's what I'm talking about!
It is a real joy to see photos of such a nice setup. If I didn't know any better, I would think those 147 lbs Mac MC1201's in the photos look smaller than they really are next to that immense HTM1D.
I agree with Indytown, raising the HTM1D slightly off the floor with an attractive stand would be visually more pleasing even if it was designed to be floor standing. Might also help SQ in some instances if it is decoupled from the floor.- Bottom

I had the same thought. I also wondered will it be horizontal or vertical? Hmm...Originally posted by sikonikowonder why 2 ca-2200's in the one pic? maybe they are going to biamp?
They would be the same.wouldnt it have been cheaper to buy a pair of ca-m400s?"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today."- Bottom

I believe they are designed to be on the floor, but every time I have listened to them the midrange just isn't fully integrated, it sounds boxy. I went with the HTM2D on the BW stand with the 800D's for now.Originally posted by misterdoggyIndy

Beautiful gear, Oh i love these new boxes....!
One thing that disturbs me :g> , with such top-notch gear, i found it painful to see the speakers so close to the rear and side walls with no visible acoustic treatment, I bet this setup can sound so much better with appropriate speakers placement and acoustic treatment.

by misterdoggyUpdate: I added a shelf underneath the htm1D to raise it 9cm. You can see the difference before and after as the shot with the dog sleeping is before.
Well Guys the HTM1D arrived and it is AWESOME. It is not in the same league as the htm2d no comparison. There are sounds coming out of...-

by misterdoggyCouldn't sleep obsessing how do I do it
This is with Glass (unbreakable) and using Apollo Mezzo soprano unit.
This way the speaker sits on the floor and the TV sits on top
Question: With 3 Big speakers like these in the front does one really need a Sub ??...-

by KahunaCanuckI have an opportunity to trade my HTM2D for the HTM1D...I hadn't really planned to do this for some time, but if I want to make this upgrade I either make this deal or wait and buy used later on, then sell mine. Being such a big brute, I am not sure I really want to do that.
So, my...-

by ShadowZAAssuming that your present front end speaker setup was: 802D (front left) - HTM2D (centre) - 802D (front right) and assuming further that the height and space factor was not an issue if you were to have an 802D for the centre, what would the best setup be from an audio quality perspective regarding...-
