    Busy day today

    Hi, my first post

After years of wanting a good HT setup, today I finally get one. Or at least today I finally get to try and set one up

    Got this little pile of boxes - Pioneer PDP-506XDE, Arcam DV137, Arcam AVP700, Arcam P1000, B&W 804S, B&W HTM3S, B&W SCMS & B&W ASW825. All linked together with QED cable/interconnects.

The wall the plasma is going to be mounted on isn't square to the room, so today I'm going to fit a temporary support framework faced with ply in order that I can get all the positions correct. Then in a few weeks builders are coming in to square up the wall and conceal any cable channeling.

    Anyway, here goes :T

    Hi,

Welcome to our forum... You will have a nice system there... Take the time to set-it up carefully and let the speakers 'break in' over 50+ hours and you should be very happy

Busy yes, but very very fun. Except maybe for the wall mod.

          Magnum,

You and I have very similar systems. Here's a suggestion for when you get bored and have some extra cash lying around. Get some monoblocks for the 804s and use the P1000 for bi amping your center, and rears. If wasting a channel bothers you, do what I did and find an extra speaker for the EX channel!

The P1000 works very good in this capacity, I was a little less impressed with using it for stereo even when I was bi-amping the 804s. Anyway, enjoy the Arcam sound! :T

Well that took a bit longer than I thought :E

In fairness, most of the time was spent making the temporary wall panel.

Had problems with sound and video last night, but sorted it in the end. DVD video is routed directly to the Panasonic tuner box and audio via digital coax to the pre-amp. It all needs setting up though. Have set subwoofer crossover frequency at 60Hz, fronts and centre to Large, surrounds to Small and that's about it. That sub sure does shake the room though :B

Any tips on setup gratefully received

As a recent Arcam purchaser, I hope this is good news:

I've been meaning to get this started for a while, but so busy with a variety of topics and projects that I just never get to it by the time the end of the day rolls around!

Well, all I'm going to do is post a few images as teasers for thought right now, with some brief comments, with the...
