    Mac vs. Earthquake

    Hi Guys,
(Not another "do amps sound different thread, just comparing these 2 amps)
I am thinking about upgrading my amps for the long term and have found some used gear locally. I have narrowed it down to a 3-channel Earthquake (300watts, 8 ohms) and a Mcintosh 7106. (6x100w or 3x 300w, 8 ohms)

The Mac is a bit older and about $500 more but in good shape.

I think both of these will run almost any speaker I have now or decide to get in the future. I do not care about surround power being the best because I do not listen to multichannel music and most decent amps will run the surrounds (bookshelf's) well.

If I run the Mac bridged, it will put out the same power as the Earthquake.

What are your opinions on these amps?
    Thanks,
    Steel

I know this is one of those questions that may generate a lot of opinion, and has been tossed around a million times, but here goes. I am in the process of buying speakers. Not sure what kind yet, but my room size is 18x24x9. I want to get my amplifier so when I buy my speakers, I am ready to listen...

    Serious Earthquake Cinenova Issue

Have what until today was a perfectly functioning Cinenova 5.
Well I have had an issue, not a small one, and am very upset with Earthquake's response. We had the system on playing a movie as background noise when I heard a loud POP and a strange noise I'd never heard before. I glanced back at...

Outlaw 950 vs Aragon Stage One (in the house!!)
    by Ricky
A friend of mine had a few days left before he had to return his 950 back to Outlaw (he bought the AT Clone and uses an Anthem Pre2L for his 2 channel listening). I thought why not? This is a good chance to try the Outlaw in my system for a couple days. I did a few comparisons the past 2 nights and...

I am not sure this is the right forum to bring up this subject but since I am using the RSP-1098 I just want to know other people's experiences...
