I currently have B&W 602 s3's for my fronts, 601 s3's for the rears, LCR60 s3 for the center, and a ASW600 sub powered by a Rotel RSX-1057 and was wondering if adding the Rotel RMB-1075 120 watt per channel amp will produce a noticeable difference? Is there anyone that owns both that can give some comparisons?

The difference is huge and readily discernible from the moment you power it up! To experience the full impact of the improvement you should use a dedicated pre/pro rather than the reciever as preamp, but even with the receiver as pre, the difference is night and day. :TOriginally posted by minerAre you intertested in improving your 2 ch sound? I don't understand your desire to go with a RMB-1075 when your reciever is HT already. Most people will add a 2 ch amp to the RSX-1057 to use as bypass 2 ch for music.- Bottom

I'm using my system for mostly Home Theater. I was wondering if there would be a noticeable difference between the amps the 1057 uses which are rated at 75 watts per channel and the 120 watts per channel the rmb-1075 uses. I didn't even think of just adding a 2 channel amp to improve just music I may look into that.Originally posted by minerAre you interested in improving your 2 ch sound? I have a RMB-1075 that was a decent amp upgrade for my H/K 7300. The H/K is 110 wpc, my 703's didn't sound that good with the receiver amp. The 1075 sounded better by a noticeable amount. But, I have never listened to the 600 series with the 1075 amp. The 703 is much more power hungry then the 600 series.Originally posted by maranoI currently have B&W 602 s3's for my fronts, 601 s3's for the rears, LCR60 s3 for the center, and a ASW600 sub powered by a Rotel RSX-1057 and was wondering if adding the Rotel RMB-1075 120 watt per channel amp will produce a noticeable difference? You may notice a slight difference in detail. If your room is large, you will benefit from the extra power and dynamics. If your in a smaller room, spend your money on something else.Originally posted by maranoI'm using my system for mostly Home Theater. for the same price, go for the RB1080 ... 200wpc x 2
the 1057 is already a decent receiver, if you unload the front 2 speakers from the receiver, you will free up some headroom for the other speakers.
plus: you get a heavy duty amp that is future/upgrade proof (for a good while)- Bottom

RMB-1075[U]
Marano, I own the discontinued B&W CM series speakers (CM4, CMC and CM2) and have them connected to a RSX-1055. Planning for the future I added a 1075 to later upgrade to separates. Meanwhile, I have my 3 front speakers connected to the 1075's 5 channels, I think that is known as passively bi-amping, then the 1055 powers the 2 rear speakers, giving them 100 watts per ch while in stereo. Have never looked back!! Hope this helps- Bottom

by bullitt731I was planning on using an RSX1057 as a processor with an RMB1077 hooked up to a pair of B&W 804s and a HTM3s. Orignally I thought I would biamp and biwire the L and R fronts using 4 channels of the RMB1077 while using the remaining 3 channels to drive the center and back surrounds.

by nashI've currently got an RMB1075 and an RSP1066 with Definitive Technology speakers. I've ordered some new towers for the main L/R (Def Tech 7001SC's) which should be a considerable upgrade from my current towers (Def Tech ProTower 400's). I am going to move my ProTower 400's to the rear.
