Your Front Rear setup is the same as mine. Furthermore, I was using a 3801 receiver connecter to a RMB1075. This setup was a little on the edgie side for my tast. I just moved to a Sunfire TGA-5200 (200x5). My 703's never sounded so good. If you look, you can find the TGA-7200 (200x7) as low as $2,800.00.

It was the best Bang for Buck deal I found.

      Style,

Also consider the Rotel RMB-1077 7 channel class D amplifer for US $2,199 RRP. It will easily drive the 703 based system. If you chose not to go 7 channel you can use the spare 2 channels to bi-amp the 703s

        Ampli

        @ Geof,

Rotel RMB1077 is a good ampli and is sure a possible solution.
        In this moment buy a rmb1077 :
        controllet from a Denon 3805 (repair costing $ 500) or rotel 1068 --> new 1069 come soon!!!!!!!

        and RB1092 for front channel.
        ---

        For movie Velodyne SPL1000R or B&W 750 ???

          Omar,

I am not sure I understand your questions.

Are you asking do you repair your Denon 3805 and add a RMB-1077 as the amp or wait for the RSX-1069 reciever?

What are the costs of these options in your country?

Have you considered a third option of the RSP-1068 or 1069 with the RMB-1077?
          For movie Velodyne SPL1000R or B&W 750 ???
I'd definitely get the B&W ASW-750 - it's a better musical match for the 703s (Even though the Velodyne is a nice HT sub)

            @Geoff,

            I have a Denon3805 : repair cost = €. 400.-
next step: rmb 1077 buy and later replace the Denon3805 with the new rotel rsp1069.
I think is not a good affair in september 2006 buy a rsp1068.

            step 2. rmb1092 for set: RMB1077 + RMB1092 controllet from RSP1069-1068

I hope kann you understand and say my what do you think about this.

            Thank's Omar

              Omar,

I understand and think it is a great idea... You'ld love the RB-1092 amps and waiting for the 1069 makes a lot of sense... An other option would be a second hand Rotel RSP1056 rather than repair the Denon - but this would only be worth it if the price difference was small compared to repairing the denon... Second had RSP-1056s have good resale value...

                Geoff,

The combo Rotel RSP1069 + RMB 1077 & RMB 1092 ist really Top (for me)

In Switzerland is not so simply a second had have/find (and whit the rotel name ...)

Ok, that live... I buy the rmb1077 at first and dann the other component..

Yes - IMO for music (and appearance) the B&W ASW 750 is a much better choice for your system, than the Velodyne SPL 1000R. You would need to get more like a Velodyne DD12 - which is very good, but in most countires outside the USA, up to twice the price of the B&W.

I currently have a pair of 703s that I use in a home theater setup (50/50 music/movies). I have an HTM3 centre and DSM7s for the rears. I use a Servo15 (v1) for my sub. Electronics consist of an AVM20 and a Rotel 1095 amp....

703 surround sound system, recommended center channel?
                    by bnieman
                    Hello,

I am looking to complete my 5.1 surround sound system by matching my front 703s with rear 703s.

I would love to use another 703 speaker for the center channel but this is not possible as it would completely block my projection screen.

                    Currently I...

I'm finally ready to upgrade speakers, and one of my local dealers has a pair of 703's available to demo. I took seven CDs I know rather well, and almost all of them sounded fantastic. I actually expected them to be brighter than they were. Very impressive.

went from 703 to 805s as fronts, a mistake for HT?
                    by THX-UltraII
                    Hi guys,

I recently bought a Velodyne DD18 subwoofer. I thought the bass was so good that came from the DD18 that I started to look for 805s set for my fronts. I ve heard them before and they sounded so much clearer than my 703s. So I found a set and bought them and also sold my 703s....
