    damage to 802d at 80db?

I recently purchased an spl meter and the rives test cd. Rives say to conduct my measurements at 80db. This seems very loud to me. Is there a chance I could damage my speakers at this level?

No 80db won't hurt your speakers

Interesting, 80db is less than 1 watt, yet most are just striving for more watts.

No chance for damage to the speakers. I usually wear ear plugs though if I'm going to be playing tones for an extended period.
