    damage to 802d at 80db?

I recently purchased an spl meter and the rives test cd. Rives say to conduct my measurements at 80db. This seems very loud to me. Is there a chance I could damage my speakers at this level?

Interesting, 80db is less than 1 watt, yet most are just striving for more watts.

No chance for damage to the speakers. I usually wear ear plugs though if I'm going to be playing tones for an extended period.

Being an Arnie fan, I finally got a chance to catch this flick on the weekend.

A bit of back story, this film deals with a terrorist act, and was originally scheduled to be relased in early October. Well we all know what happened in September and so WB chose to push this back a few months....

Testing 802D with Classé and Nuforce
          by Maverick71
          Hi,

After purchasing my 802D's a few months ago, I'm starting to do some testing with power amps since I realize my TAG 100x5R can't really cope with the speakers demands.

Last Friday I brought home a pair of Nuforce Ref9 monoblocs and a Classé CA3200. I intend to buy...

B&W: 703, old 800 or new 802D series for my HT? (Poll)

          Hi,

This is my first post and I hope with your help I can make a more intelligent decision regarding the purchase of my first premium HT as well as get some critique on the overall HT.

The specs of my room are 24' (L) and 20' (W), however there is an intrusion on both sides...

          HTM1D and 802D's purchase advice
          by windshear
I can get a set of these speakers, used from the agents at a fairly good price. However im a little concerned as they both have a disclosed history of damage. Both the 802D's tweeter were replaced, apparently blown, due to abuse by the owners children. The same happened to the HTM1D but it burnt out...

          Rives vs Yates
          by wettou
I know a lot of you have treated your rooms and have had professional help. I am looking to maybe get a ceiling treatment done
Has any one used either Rives or Yates? I heard that they are really good but was wondering if any one had experience with them.
