    Yamaha will be fine

    beehive,

I have experience with both Sony and Yamaha receivers. The Yamaha RXV series units are nice. These should be a very nice upgrade over the Sony. I've also had 601's, similar to the 602's. Currently, my 601's are in the basement driven by a receiver comparable to what you are getting. The 601's sound good. I also know the 602 S#'3 are also a nice step up from the 601's.

    Hope this helps.

    PS Nice cousin.

this is for the 657, but should be similar to your 659

Output at clipping (1 kHz, 8/4 ohms)
      both channels driven: 129/188 W (21.1/22.7 dBW)
how many 602's are you powering?

I am considering this receiver but in our place, electronics can't be auditioned (unless it is already setup). Please give my your honest review. I am considering Pioneer VSX-816, Onkyo TS-603 as well. Thank you.

I really want to go this route but I can't quite get there... especially since I just went out and bought a 1080 and 703's 6 weeks ago.

What brings me to this 'need' is the fact that in reading many of the threads on this forum, and listening to my YAM, I truly think I'm missing something...

Turns out I was hooking my Yamaha rxv-2095 up as a preamp correctly. They sold me a dead amp!

As most of you know, I just bought a RMB-1095 amp today...new in a sealed box. My first Rotel product. When I took it home, I attempted to hook my Yamaha RXV-2095 receiver up as a preamp to the RMB-1095. I thought I was hooking the Yami up incorrectly, but from reading the post it turns out I was doing...

I have posted this questions on other reputable forum sites. Thought I'd try this one, too. I appreciate everyone's efforts in helping me solve this problem.
