Are B&W's and Marantz a good match?

Are B&W's and Marantz a good match? I was thinking about getting a SR 4600 for my 300 series. Any opinions if this would be a nice match.

    Thanks

Yes. Didn't you ask this question a week ago? I mentioned about the Marantz receiver I had with the B&W 600 HT setup. Yes, it is a good match.

Maybe so I may have. But I was looking at so reviews on Marantz and well it look like it would be a better idea. What is the sound quality compared to an Onkyo or Yamaha?

Mine might be a minority opinion, but I don't know if the differences will be all that great at this level as long as you get adequate power. Now if you are like most of us, you probably won't buy this and stick with it forever - the dreaded upgrade bug will likely hit and you'll be looking at getting some 602s or CM1s or something like that down the road so buy something with that in mind.

Getting a receiver with pre-outs is a nice idea because it will allow you to add separate amplification if you do upgrade speakers down the road. I'd also consider things like overall feature set, the quality of the remote (a minor item I admit, but worth considering) , reputation of the manufacturer, especially regarding service of products.

But really, I think that if you get enough power you'll find that most of the reputable manufacturers products will "match" just fine.

Cool deal, I think I will go with the Marantz 4600 and it does have pre-outs. And down the road I will go up to the 600 series but that is way, way, down the road.

          Thanks

            by audioqueso
I'm curious about a test I want to do. So I would like to get people's opinion about this test.

I have $4-5k budget that I have to improve my B&W Nautilus 805/HTM2 setup. I currently have a Marantz SR7002 AV receiver powering them.

I've been wanting to audition McIntosh...
