Hey guys I'm a newbie to all this, so bear with me. About a month ago I purchased a new pair of 602 S3s. I hooked them up to my HK 235, and although I was impressed with the sound, they seemed a little to "hollow" or "thin". The CD player I currently use is a common Sony that I have used for years. I switched from using the digital output on the player to the analog outputs. It did make the speakers sound alot better as in lessening up that thin sound. That was until I bi-wired them, it did improve the mid quite a bit, but it totally reinforced that thin sound that I didnt like! Has anybody else encountered this?

Room treatments are probably the most cost effective way to upgrade your system, and often, the most noticeable improvment. If your room can benefit from treatment (and the vast majority of rooms do), then upgrading spearkers and electronics will still produce sound you're less than pleased with.- Bottom

I was wondering what you had for speakers before the 602's. The speakers I had before my 605/602/601 S2 setup were exceptionally bright. For awhile the B&W setup seemed muddy/dull in the midranges. Now they sound fine to me.Emotiva UPA-700 Amp

Hey Spork,
As I said in That Other Forum
I believe that room treatments can give you the biggest bang for the buck. Speaker placement can be a big deal, too.
Having said that, I think you could do better with your amplification. Rotel was mentioned and they are generally regarding as being a good match for B&W.
Cheers,

I just bought the rug and it has helped with adding to the punch of the bass and reducing the harshness of the highs....-

Hi All,
For sometime now I have been using a HK AVR5550 (Only 7x75watts) with DVD30 (Only 576p output) to power my B&W 600 Series speakers. I've always found the sound muffled, unclear, not defined and requiring the volume to be turned up quite load to heard voices clearly.

by BlazeMasterHi, everyone I just got my 600s almost 2 weeks ago, and am thinking about exchanging the 600s for 602s. I can then put the 602s in front to match the LCR600 better and keep my 601s that I have as fronts right now and then use them for surrounds. The price difference would only be about $300. The...-

by dewWhat do you guys think about using an htm2 with 602s? I used to have a B&W cnt and it sounded great with the 602s. I got rid of it a few years ago and now I want to get another center. Eventually I'll want to upgrade the 602s so it won't be too big of a deal if they don't mesh perfectly. Any...-
