    Tighten topbox on Matrix 801?

I just discovered that the boxes with mid/tweeter on my Matrix 801 series3 are loose, on my 802's it's possible to angle them in/out but they are really tight back/forward, up/down.

How are the boxes on top fastenend, is there a way to tighten up the thing holding the boxes so it moves less easily and not at all in a direction apart from left/right?

Would like to know that, too.
I heard it's different between the Matrix 801, series 3 and the series 2. [And I have both. ]

I thought there was a long screw in the top that you could tighten using a coin or large screwdriver. That should allow left / right rotation but more or less eliminate the up / down movement.

Ah yes: the series 2 have a long screw ...
The series 3 doesn't have it.

On my Matrix 802 Series 3 there is a bolt inside the main cabinet. Remove the bass driver on the 801 (or top bass driver for the 802) and you'll see where the mid range and tweeter wires go through to the top box. They go through a nut which will already be quite tight but if you screw it in a bit more then that should stiffen up the top box mounting. I don't know how strong the threads are though so be careful not to shear it off!

Can anyone tell me how the 801 matrix stacks up against the new 803di ? Is the 801 matrix still a good speaker?

I am new to the B&W scene and was hoping you guys could give me some descriptions of how these b&w speakers sound in relation to each other. Also what are their individual pro's and con's? I am strongly tempted to go with a pair of Nautilus 805's as I can get them for $1,400.00 but I can get...

How does current 802D (not Diamond) compare to the Matrix 801? I can get Matrix 801 for half the price of 802D and I sure love the bigger woofer... Guess the sound will be bigger as well. However the newer B&W's must be more refined in every way? I currently only have McIntosh 6900 which I know...

I'm using my 801 Matrix Series 2 and HTM Matrix for the front 3 speakers.
Currently using some old Epicures for the rear. Now that I'm upgrading the whole theatre I was looking for suggestions for the side-surrounds and rears.
Contemplating 805 Matrix for the side vs. more HTMs for the...

            B&W 801 Head Retaining Bolts

Hi all, this is my first post to this forum. I am the happy owner of B&W 801 Matrix Series 2 speakers which arrived Saturday. Unfortunately, both retaining bolts that hold the heads to the cabinets were bent during shipping and one of the plastic caps is broken.
