801 S2 Matrix for mains - what for side and rear?

I'm using my 801 Matrix Series 2 and HTM Matrix for the front 3 speakers.
Currently using some old Epicures for the rear. Now that I'm upgrading the whole theatre I was looking for suggestions for the side-surrounds and rears.
Contemplating 805 Matrix for the side vs. more HTMs for the sides. The biggest problem is due to room shape as the sides will need to be up near the ceiling - I was planning on using some Omnimount holders to drop the sides down a little (to avoid ceiling loading and direct the sides at a sharp angle toward the listening position).
Would anything larger than 804s be overkill for the rear?
    Any input would be appreciated.

Matrix 805/HTM for rears & surrounds is your best bet.

However, you could try M804's as they should only be slightly more than 805s.

You can also try to scrounge up some SCM8. They are in the matrix vintage and would work perfect for your sides.

      Isn't the SCM8 a bi-polar speaker? Wouldn't that eliminate the advantage of 7.1?
So you are saying either the 805 or the HTM? (I realize the HTM is basically an 805 on it's side) What about the side near the ceiling? HTM at an advantage or not?

        The SCM8 are dipoles.

I would use the SCM8 as your side surrounds and get 805/HTM for your Rears.
They can be easily wall mounted either right-side up or upside down.

You can use anything for rears....805, HTM...anything Matrix....as that would be best if you decide to go 5.1 SACD/DVD-A.

Only main difference between HTM & 805 is that the HTM is shielded and shorter (good for placing on top of bookshelves). However I would use stands.
