Very nice birthday present from B&W

Just something I'd like to share with others. When I first registered my 805s, B&W sent me a pen. I heard some people received keychains which was what I wanted. The pen was no big deal, but it was a nice gesture. This past Wednesday was my birthday and I received two unexpected packages from B&W. I received a DVD from B&W labeled A Sound Experience. It was in a glossy black cover that has an imprint of the 800D. I placed the DVD in the player, and it's a pretty basic DVD that has some pictures of the 800 series, and some nice music. The first track is that song that you hear when you go to B&W's website. I always wanted to hear that track on my speakers. So that was pretty nice. Then in the other package I received a book and a brochure. The brochure was labeled 'B&W The Dream Book' (or something like that) and it shows a bunch of B&W/Rotel/Classe setups, some small articles, but mostly a bunch of nice pictures. And lastly there was a book that is about 50 pages thick, that tells the history of B&W and a lot of interesting details about the new 800 series. I thought it was a very nice surprise for my birthday. Just wanted to share that with everyone. Don't know why they sent me these things, but now I'm glad I registered in their mailing list because I was very thrilled to receive these items.

I beleive many people got that package for signing up for the B&W HT giveaway some months ago. I, too, rcvd that kit.

The one where they gave away the 800 series complete set? I don't know, I couldn't apply since I am in Florida. That's cool though. I really like this set.

Hi - I just got my new pair of B&W speakers and registered them online. However, there was no field to enter my birthdate - so how do I get my b'day gift??????

I don't know. I registered online, but I also had these two cards inside the manual that came with my 805s. I think it was that form... but I don't remember. Check the back of the manual.

I still do NOT understand how those booklets can be considered a birthday present. Man most of us are SICK with upgratis syndrome. And it is terminal - no cure found yet. Some say faith in God Almighty helps And they - B&W - are doing this?!?!? Somebody's GOT to sue them or something.

P.S. I guess what you all are saying is "How sweeet of them to have offered me a FREE dose of heroin. Can't thank them enough!!!"

We have stacks of boxes of those fancy B&W books.....the story of B&W ones and the 800 series ones and the other one pictured....tons of them.....and all the individual Signature books from a few years ago....no one gives them out and they just pile up. I think you can walk into your dealer and ask for one.

Were you talking to me? Then I'll respond. Guess I'm begining to complain...Those brochures make us spend spend spend. Not quite sure if I myself like the state I'm in. By the way did they send you ANY material on how to make YOUR system sound it's best? Like some material about acoustics, on how to treat your room to avoid first reflections and so on? Was not meant to hurt or anything. Really
