Anyone put HTM1 above SXRD or LCD rear projection TV?

    Hi guys,

I have a Sony 60" SXRD TV with the Sony stand that fits it perfectly.

Problem is my B&W HTM1 center does not fit in the Sony stand.

Anyone put their HTM1 above their rear projection TV?

    thanks,
    Rick

    I have

I have my HTM2D above my sony Qualia 70... I have it on a shelf attached to the wall. Looks/works fine. I have it on a glass shelf and have since added sound absorption material under the speaker to stop the reflection I was getting. Make sure you angle the speaker down (10%). I use a couple large rubber door stops.

I broke down and purchased the B&W HTM1 stand and placed the HTM! in front of my 50" GWIII RP. Looks much better and I think that it also sounds better than placing that larger of a speaker on a shelf on top of a RP.

Gostan; how about showing a picture... I'll do the same and let him decide what looks better.

Thanks guys for the recomendations -- seems like most people are putting the Htm1 in front of their rear projection TVs.

              Viper,

              Thanks for the picture.

That is certainly a very clean looking set up!

When using a shelf for the center and lifting the rear (with doorstops, or other device), how do you keep the speaker from sliding forward on the shelf? For example, do you apply the rubber feet supplied by B&W?

I've got the older style RPTV (large box) and had a custom piece of 3/8" glass cut to fit the top of the tv. Keeps the weight of the speaker distributed across the tv, to avoid sagging on the top of the tv. I currently use rubber feet under the front of the speaker to maintain a grip on the glass.
