Emailed US B&W on Monday about getting the "free" spike kits for my 802Ds. Here it is Friday and I have them !!!!!!!!!!!! They are INCREDABLE !!!!!!!!! The spikes are machined perfectly. Can't wait to put them on (with the help of my sons). That a way B&W !!!!!!

Did you leave an email to them through the bwspeakers.com website?
Or was there a specific email address you emailed to?
Curious to know details since I'll be doing the same too! Tks!

I used the B&W USA website. They emailed me back within an hour of my email. As long as I was the original owner and purchased 802Ds from a B&W dealer, the spikes were no charge.
Tomorrow I (plus my two sons !) will install the spikes. I'm interested in seeing if it makes a differance.

You're lucky. In Europe I had to pay 300 Euros ($360) for the same set from B&W.

I think it sucks that B&W doesn't have the same policy regarding sales of the 802D's worldwide.

When I called B&W in the UK, they actually "misled" me. I told them that in the USA they were for free, and the fellow in charge of parts said that "absolutely everyone everywhere has to buy them"

They are beautiful and you can see they don't cost nothing, but you would think if you laid out 12,000 Euros ($14400) the European concessionaire could offer you a set.

          Hi all,
I've been thinking about upgrading the firmware on my RSX-1055 for a while now and recently decided to do something about it.

To avoid the hassle of making my own cable, I emailed Rotel to see how much it would cost to ship one to Ireland - their American site mentioned...

          Speaker spikes, and laminate floors
          by Bob Santos
I am about to re-setup my HT after renovations to the room my HT is in. The new floor is a laminate floor ( like Pergo ).
I have spikes on my sub, and main speakers. I need to figure a way to protect the floor from the spikes.
I saw somewhere hardwood floor protectors for spikes advertised...

          Speaker Spikes and Wood Floors
          by tizeye
Currently building Zaph's SR71 and matching stands. First primer coat on drying on sands as I type. Having difficulty deciding how to spike the stands.

With my sub, PE's 10" Titanic, I quickly learned pointy spikes + wood floors = disaster and the separate floor plates are a joke...

What's the best way to move the 802s once you have the spikes on them!?
          by PewterTA
I just bought a couple maple plinths for under the 802Dis... I'm going to put the spikes on the speakers and then get them up on the plinths.

Now to compensate with spikes and wood (ie not good).... WKHanna is making me machined Aluminum discs with small divots in them for the spike...

          Rubber VS Spikes for 802D
          by rompower
          Hey all!

I was wondering if anyone experienced rubber vs spikes on the 802D? Any thoughts?

I'm wondering if I switch to spikes but I fear I'll destroy the carpet if I want to play a little bit with positioning... Should I buy some granit plate to put under the speaker...
