    Logical, I suppose? - Seating height & 802s

Now as a B&W owner of several years I suppose I should not be writing this thread as I am sure you are all going to say - "what a plonker!!".

Last week, I bought some home theatre seats for my HT (Pieter please note).

The seating position is about 5 inches higher than my other seating.

WOW! ! ! what a difference in sound.

I am now sitting with my ears directly in line with the tweeter and mid range.

I have 802's all round so in the past I have obviously been "off line".

It is like another world for me.

The lesson to be learned is?

Right - now for the flack coming from all sides.

    Caleb,

Good move... It's often amazing how these little things make a bg difference isn't it!

      Yes Geoff,
Little things do, but I am embarrassed that I didn't think about it before!

What seating height are your HT seats with you sitting in it and when not sitting in it? I'm just curious what a good seat height should be. Looking online I've found that there doesn't seem to be a standard seat height for HT chairs. I've seen things from 17 inches to 18 inches mostly though. My seat is 17 inches when sitting in it, 18 inches when not sitting in it.

which of those Classe's is best on the 802s?
          by tmt
First of all my apologies! This is a question about amps - preamps, maybe I should have post this in the audio hideout forum, but since Classe seems to go together with B&W speakers I'll post it in this group.
note: all prices I mention are in euro, but you can substitute it for dollar....

          B&W 802s and Amps
          by JesseRJ
After consulting with many people and this forum's advice, I will not buy a receiver to go with the 802s but, what now? At the moment I am looking into the Aragon Stage One pre/pro and their 3005 amp. Both of these components so far have gotten great reviews and I am trying to find a dealer in Manhattan...

          802s - large or small??
          by caleb
This question was prompted by another "SWEET SPOT" thread that I have just read.

On my (TAG McLAREN) processor, I have the option to set the front speakers to large or small.

This redirects the lower frequencies to the subwoofer at different cut off frequencies....

          FP seating distance questions?
          by Legairre
I'm planning on getting a front projector after Christmas with a 16:9 106" diagonal screen. Everyone always talks about sitting 1.5 times screen width.

          My questions are:

          1. When saying 1.5 times screen width are we talking about the diagonal width or the horizontal...

          Theater seating arrangements
          by Blindamood
Okay, we've decided to add dedicated seating to the home theater, and I'm wondering if anyone has some good recommendations on where/what to buy. I'm thinking of the type with the recliner and cupholders, probably 4 seats across. I stopped by the La-Z-Boy showroom today to check out their "Matinee"...
