Which color do you like best for B&W 800 series.

Which color do you like best for your 800 series? Black, Red Cherry, Cherry or Rosenut.

Since the new Rosenut color quite different than the old Red Cherry I post this as two different color.

Red cherry is no longer available for the 800 series. Only Rosenut. The Red Cherry was offered for the Nautilus series prior. I will have to answer Rosenut because technically its as close to the Red Cherry which I wish was still available.

I agree, I have seen both the Red Cherry (HTM1) & Rosenut (HTM3S) and I personally like the Red Cherry much better than the Rosenut.

However, if I have to pick between all four, I like the Black Ash the most. I feel that they have that wood grain feeling that does not exist in other color. See attached for the beautiful wood grain of my 804. I try to capture the color, but it is really hard to capture their natural captivity using pictures.

I have very fine wood graining (black) on my red cherry N804. Polishing with pledge with orange oil really brought them out.

I bought mine in Rosenut. Funny thing is, the color-feeling seems to change depending on the light. It varies from something like brown to something slightly red.

I agree... loved the red cherry, but since it's gone, I opted for the rosenut for my 803 mains and black ash for my HTM4S center channel. My dealer tells me that most buyers from his store want the center channel speaker to be more unobtrusive-- so they tend to do that one in black ash... so much for color coordination!

Someone stole my pictures and try to sell an item in ebay with it. My post to sell these items here was also banned because of it.

That is why I put writings all over my pictures so no one can use it to sell fraudulent item.

The cherry Vs (Red Cherry + Rosenut) are competing pretty well. Too sad my Black Ash are far behind.

I traded in old 804's for the Nautilus 804's back when they first came out. I bought the Red Cherry because it was the closest color they had to Rosenut.

Many years ago I almost bought a pair of P6's in Rosenut. I thought the wood was perfect.

While I like the Red Cherry, I'd greatly prefer to have the Rosenut.

I love rosenut - looks stunning with the black marlan "head". Yet the color itself does not fit my decor. Too "warm" a color. Choices were minimal. Chose black - 802s look contemporary, somewhat "alien", Saucer-like

Black ash, even the baby 805S look sexy in black! Not to mention the 802D's...

I do have another question regarding easthetics... Do you guys think B&W will ever consider other collours for their kevlar midrange drivers? (aside from the 300 series that is...).

I spent a long time thinking about what color my speakers should be, and IMO, the wood is too splendid on the 800s to paint it black (hard to see the grain from far away). So it really just boils down to: do you have light colored furniture (for the light-colored cherry) or dark furniture (for the more somber rosenut). I chose rosenut!

That depends on the lightfall in the listening area. I had no problem whatsoever identifying the paterns in my black ash models, even from large distances...

Yes, I have seen the Rosenut & Cherry. My favor always goes to the Black Ash. However, I don't think we should be forcing anyone on what color they should pick. In the end, it's boil down to yourselves on what you think is good.

We all just have to agree to disagree on the color preference. :T

Anyhow, I am glad to see that Black is gaining ground. Go Black.....

I love my Rosenut speakers. I personally don't care for black too much, I think it is way too common, though I admit it matches well with a lot of different decors.

but the 805 in black are very nice but the 802dI think the best color kann be rosenut.

Why isn't beeche avalible on the 800 series? The yellow kvevlar cone and the black details looks great on my 705s.
But of the avalible veeners I think black is the right way to go.

Natural cherry! It goes with everything. I like white walls too! Nothing worse than sitting in a dark room with dark furniture

I would have to say Red Cherry ,but as the NEW 800 series do NOT include Red Cherry ,so I would have to vote Rosenut. I voted for Red Cherry ,as I find it the most sophisticated colour for a conservative TV room or Music room. It shows character ,and being that my wife is an Interior Decorator, I get to choose my speakers ,without she throwing a fit about their looks or price ,and keep her entertained with the Red Cherry sophisticate look and colour that she would want ,and so we are both happy. PEACE!!! and SERENITY!!! at HOME !! All are content!

I prefer Cherrywood for its causual good looks and buttery smooth woodgrain. Rosenut is rich in appearance but rough to the touch. Black Ash excels in steath but the veneer skins look and feel a bit chintzy.

I didn't like the black ash until I installed all of the grills on my N801's. Now I love the look and prefer black to the other finishes, at least on the 801's.

I feel the all-black look gives the 802Ds (or the rest of the line, for that matter) an ultramodern feel that is missing with the other finishes. The other colors yield a retro feel, which my eye can't reconcile with the tweeter and especially the plinth and teardrop midrange unit (on the higher models).

My system is all black which works great when the lights go down in the HT, but if i was to buy another pair for another room the color would be the new rosenut finish.

For esthetic preference maybe but it's not a practical requirement. I have a Cherrywood ASW-825 sitting directly in front of me. With the grill on and when the lights go down the sub almost disappears.

I think black is a good choice if you are building a dark HT room.

The Black ash gives the impression that the speaker is smaller than with the other colors (for example, cherrywood)
