    Bang for the buck.... 604's!!!

I've had these for almost a year and for $1200.00 I don't think there is a better pair of towers out there... The center is a little pricy at around $550.00 but the sound definatly makes up for it.

The 600 series are a great bang for the buck. I didn't have any towers. My setup was 601/600/LCR60 (S3) and they were great. I really enjoyed those speakers plus if I remember correctly, I paid $1100 for it all. Great steal for its performance.

The 600 series are a great value, I think B&W hit the mark on this series with the price point and performance.

                  604s, LCR600, 602x4 S3s for $2000.

Couple that with RSP-1098 and RMB-1095/1080 and wooo hoo do I love the sound from them.

Can't wait to hit up the Rotel new amps or NuForce Ref 9s along with some 800 series. One day it shall happen!

Fritz, that is unique, I think - wall mounted floorstanders. I have never seen that before. Has anyone else?

Did you ever try them on the floor, pulled out from the wall a bit?

I was going to say that has to kill the bass response from the floor-standers. How's the imagine with that as well? I'd bet moving them out would make a huge difference.

Also, how'd you mount them up there as they aren't the lightest of speakers (nor the heaviest)...just curious how you did it.

But that is definitely very unique!!

A picture is worth a thousand words. Also if I want to do serious listening I just pull them down and it dosnt seem to affect the bass. Of course the B&W sub and the Velodyne seem to do just fine. :T

                              Fritz,

From the pictures, it would appear to use that your room may be "bright" and by that I mean your have many sound-reflective surfaces. If this is the case have you considered adding some sound-absorbing material?

Yea, Im going to make some decorative panels for each side and something on the ceiling. Just havent gotten around to it yet. I assume your talking about live end dead end for the early relections. :T

and they are brand new...the dealer told me its cheaper
than buying in UK, i dunno why, i checked the B&W website and i guess he is right.
the limitation is, i have to settle with the only available colors, so my front is sorrento, rear and center black.... and they dont have the 800's yet.

My first B&W's were the 602's S3 awesome bang for the buck. I used those speakers as mains along with a good sub and they sounded great. The 602's are pretty much the 604's minus the bass drivers.

For you to get all that for $750 did you purchase them used? Couldn't have been new.. at that price! wow what a deal either way.

My first speaker was B&W 603. Definitely a nice speaker at that price. I have since upgraded to 804. If you want to upgrade, the 7 and 8 series are definitely better than the 6 series.

You would hope the 700, 800 series was better than the 600 , sure they are but look at the price differance , 600s are cracking speakers for the price

I initially decided to go with 601 S3 with LCR60 center but I figured afford just a bit more for better sound. This then became a dilema.

So I decided to step up to the 603 S3 floorstands. These however are better matched with the larger LCR600 centers. The problem is that this size center...

I have a 6x5m room half open on 1 side, high ceiling, hard tiles. I listen to 90% music / 10% movies, at low levels (just enough to hear all the sounds). I have always been against...

Okay, here's some basic assumptions on the minimum type of HT setup.

                                            1. Have 5 speakers. I know some don't but if you want the full HT exeperience get those speakers.
                                            2. Have a sub. Any sub regardless of performance is better than no sub.
                                            3. Have a receiver that decodes...
