I've had these for almost a year and for $1200.00 I don't think there is a better pair of towers out there... The center is a little pricy at around $550.00 but the sound definatly makes up for it.
Bang for the buck.... 604's!!!

The 600 series are a great bang for the buck. I didn't have any towers. My setup was 601/600/LCR60 (S3) and they were great. I really enjoyed those speakers plus if I remember correctly, I paid $1100 for it all. Great steal for its performance.B&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

604s, LCR600, 602x4 S3s for $2000.
Couple that with RSP-1098 and RMB-1095/1080 and wooo hoo do I love the sound from them.
Can't wait to hit up the Rotel new amps or NuForce Ref 9s along with some 800 series. One day it shall happen!Digital Audio makes me Happy.

I was going to say that has to kill the bass response from the floor-standers. How's the imagine with that as well? I'd bet moving them out would make a huge difference.
Also, how'd you mount them up there as they aren't the lightest of speakers (nor the heaviest)...just curious how you did it.
But that is definitely very unique!!Digital Audio makes me Happy.

than buying in UK, i dunno why, i checked the B&W website and i guess he is right.
the limitation is, i have to settle with the only available colors, so my front is sorrento, rear and center black.... and they dont have the 800's yet.- Bottom

My first B&W's were the 602's S3 awesome bang for the buck. I used those speakers as mains along with a good sub and they sounded great. The 602's are pretty much the 604's minus the bass drivers.
For you to get all that for $750 did you purchase them used? Couldn't have been new.. at that price! wow what a deal either way.dan87951

by SF_VR6I initially decided to go with 601 S3 with LCR60 center but I figured afford just a bit more for better sound. This then became a dilema.
So I decided to step up to the 603 S3 floorstands. These however are better matched with the larger LCR600 centers. The problem is that this size center...601 with matching LCR60 (within budget)13.33%2603 with LCR60 (center a bit mismatched)0.00%0CM7 with CMcenter (perfect match but expensive)86.67%13-

by csuzorI've finally decided to move to 5.1 instead of stereo hi-fi, so bought an AVR1804 (6x90W) and 602 fronts and 601 surrounds. I have a 6x5m room half open on 1 side, high ceiling, hard tiles. I listen to 90% music / 10% movies, at low levels (just enough to hear all the sounds). I have always been against...-

by P-DubOkay, here's some basic assumptions on the minimum type of HT setup.
1. Have 5 speakers. I know some don't but if you want the full HT exeperience get those speakers.
2. Have a sub. Any sub regardless of performance is better than no sub.
3. Have a receiver that decodes... -
