804(s) worth 600 dollars to upgrade from 703

Was wondering if 3,100 dollars for the new 804(s) was a good deal? I will be trading in my 604s3 for 1100 credit towards the 804s. The speakers are used but only 6 months old. The store will treat them as new and give me the full five year warranty. So what does everyone think? Yes they are the new series 804(s). I was going to buy a used set of 703 for 2400 dollars. :

If they are "brand new" 804S's (and not the older N804's) then $3100.00 is a good deal.

A new set of 703's would run you $3000, so $3100 for a set of 804s (as RebelMan said, 804-S model) is a great deal, esp with a full warranty and assuming no damage to the speakers. Go on, take the speakers and run!

Actually I could get a used pair of the 703's for 2400. So their would be a difference of 700. I also brought business in and they bought a pair of 602's and they will be buying my used 604s3 when I trade mine in. The store wanted to sell me the speakers for 3200 but gave me a hundred dollar discount for bringing in some business.

I'd take it before they sell 'em to someone else (as long as they're in proper condition).

As long as the speaker exteriors are in very good shape (they sometimes get dinged from moving them in and out for demos) I would definitely go for the 804S trade/upgrade. After all, at six months of use, they are all broken in for you.

That is what I am thinking. I am going to try to get them down to 3000 even due to my friend purchasing 1800 from the store. That would be only an 600 increase from a used set of 703 to used set of 804(S). I know if I buy a used set of 703 I may wonder one day if I should have spent the extra money for the 804(s). It is really confusing differentiating between the 804's and the new 804(s) when you search the intranet. O-well thanks for the help.

I know there are alot of topics on these speakers but I am wondering if any current owners of 804s speakers were at one time thinking of the 703 speaker?

I just got my B&W 804S speakers yesterday. Funny how I came around to selecting them. Here's my story....

I've had B&W 602.5 / B&W LCR60 / B&W 600 for my system for about a year and a half and wanted to upgrade (don't we all). I researched the internet, read posts here,...
