Repair question - 804 Matrix near St Louis MO

Finally got around to hooking up my rear (804 Matrix) and surrounds (805 Matrix) - 2 months after purchase (yes, eBay - no FLAMING please).
Now I'm beating myself up for not having checked the 804s when I got them - one of them barely makes any noise at all.
I'm pretty resolved to try to get the one speaker repaired - any suggestions in the St. Louis, MO area?

BTW: The 805s (also eBay) were NIB and sound perfect!

Hello, sorry to hear about your troubles. What part of St Louis are you in? There are a couple in that genereal area, there is Best Sound over at 227N Lindburg, and The Sound Room in Creve Coeur. There is another audio shop in Frontenac just on the north side of the Frontenac Mall across the street, Its name escapes me right now. Any of these shops should be able to help you.

    Good Luck!

Here is the ph# of The sound Room Tel: (314) 997-3456

      Thanks

It's been a while since I did the rounds of the high-end stores in STL.
Does anyone know who does the best work?

What type of work did you want done? HT? The shop over in Frontenac that I mentioned in the last post is called The Screening Room. They have a really nice shop and do great work. Being in Frontenac you can imagine the type of jobs they work on. Very nice stuff.

          Speaker repair

          First things first.
I need to repair the bad 804 if possible
          Who would you suggest?

In the future I need a screen for the HT and perhaps someone to program my Halo C2 - no super-design at this point: I just want to enjoy what I have for now. In the future I can make the theatre "perfect".

The Sound room in Creve Coeur is a B&W dealer, so they will be able to fix your 804's.

I bought 95% of my equipment (B&W speakers and e.t.c) from BestSound and i would say that they have better customer service and more professional in speakers or Amps repairing. The sales manager from Bestsound is very friendly and will be able to help you out.

Matrix 804 vs the new 704
                by greataudio
I really love my Matrix 804's (I have a pair of DM640's too) but they are about 15 years old now. Is there a big sound improvement with the new 600 series or 704 speakers. I want to know if it is worth the investment before I take the plunge. Thank You.

I am new to the B&W scene and was hoping you guys could give me some descriptions of how these b&w speakers sound in relation to each other. Also what are their individual pro's and con's? I am strongly tempted to go with a pair of Nautilus 805's as I can get them for $1,400.00 but I can get...

                by braxus
I have heard about the CM series and now the new 700 series are similar in design to the old Matrix series. Is this true? Would the performance of the new 700 series at least equal or even surpass the old Matrix series? I have had both the 805 and 804 Matrix speakers.

Center speaker for 804 Matrix series
                by Mike-NWT
Is there center speaker that would match cross-over of 804 Matrix speakers bought in about 1996? One can get matching old 805 for the rear but it is the center that I am worried about.
If the answer is no, don’t ask me if I will sell the 804 and upgrade to Nautilus, I just love them.
