    Hi,

Figure this would be a good first post to the forum. So Hi all!

    Images not available

    My system components:

    Speakers: 4 N804, HTM 1, Velodyne HGS15II, Velodyne HGS12II

Sources: Meridian 598DP, Meridian 568.2MM, Classe CDP .3, VPI HW19 Jr. w/MK III platter;AudioQuest PT9 tonearm; and Sumiko Blue Point cartridge, Bryston BP25, Onkyo Integra TA2600 tape deck, Sony PCM-M1 portable DAT

Amps: 2 Carver TFM 25s biamping 804 mains.

    Video: Pioneer Elite Pro1010-HD plasma

I still need to buy a couple more amps to drive the HTM 1 and the 804s for the rear surrounds. Plus the system will be moved down to my new sound room when it is completed. Can't wait as the new sound room will be 16'x23'.

      junior77blue,
While it does not show...I have the HTM ona plexi glass stand that tilts down. I also sit about 15 ft back. If these were not the case it would not work as well.

          ZX10 Guy,

I recently bought sound anchor stands and can attest to the difference they make, but am curious what drove you to get the taller ones? are you back far from your speakers?
I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...

My guess would be to raise the speakers relative to the screen...

              ZX10 Guy,

Take a drywall saw and cut asmall hole behind the panel. Do the same low behind your gear. Make sure its small enough to cover with a standard blank plate. Then Fish those wires down.

                  jahlion,

                  Thanks for the welcome.

                  sikoniko,

Actually, I didn't have much choice in the matter with the taller Sound Anchor stands. I got the 804s you see there used from one of my local dealers. He threw in the Sound Anchor stands as part of the deal as the original owner traded the speaker and stands in. The height doesn't bother me too much as I'm about 13-14' from the speakers. When the sound room gets done in the basement, I'll be a bit further back pending listening experiments. The placement of the screen and such was just a nice coincidental thing as everything worked out sheerly by accident.

                  dortiz and junior77blue,

Yep, the setup is totally temporary. Hence, the unsightly loose wire going to the plasma.

Thats why I said small enough to cover witha blank plate...my temporary solutions have been up as long as a few years.

Funny how they still rock no matter where you put them.

                          JPT setup

Hi all, first post. I´ve been lurking here for some time enjoying great posts with solid knowledge about my favorite speaker range. Thanx guys. Hope I can contribute further down the road.

Anyway, Heres my system. I want to change the sub (a asw600, a good sub but from another league) for a velodyne dd10-12 or one of the new B&W subs (865?), but otherwise I´m set speakerwise. I run SCM1 for surround and (as you can see) 805 and HTM2 up front.

                          Cheers!

                          JPT

If you mail your pictures to htguide@jeroenweb.nl I will upload them to my webserver and post them here in this tread. Please keep the size in mind. I only got 50 MB max and I'm using about 40 of it. But if all pics are under 250KB I would be happy to see your beautifull systems!!!

I guess I must take new pix. at a lower resolution as I can't seem to reduce the size once I have taken them.

                                        My B&W

I've moved since the last time I posted any pics of my B&W set-up, so here are some new pictures.

I've got the DM605 S2's in front, the LCR6 as center, the DM601 S2's as rear speakers, and the ASW2500 subwoofer.

And all in all I have to say that I'm very satisfied with this setup.

I am going to try once more.
I have now resized them and I hope it works.
There are some pics before the new phase plugs and some after.

Damn, your system looks GREAT! Is it me? Might be an idea to move the speakers further appart but... well... don't know if you have the space That ML amp is really something, is it treu that they are 80 KG? That is a LoT!

Thanks, the speakers are about as far apart as they can go currently. Will be building a new home next year and then will buld a dedicated room for the system.
The ML amp I have never attempted to move on my own. It does bring the 802's to life.
The left side is purely ML and for two channel music, while the right is the home theatre.

                                                          Here's my humble setup...

I've been drooling over all of the setups listed in this thread for a very long time. Well, I guess it's time I try to post some pics of mine. Granted, it's not nearly as nice as the others here, funding and WAF are an issue in my household. Man, I wish I had the $'s to spend on better gear...

My speakers are DM604S3 fronts, a LCR600 center, and some older DM302 surrounds. All driven by a Rotel RMB-1075 amp with an Outlaw Model 950 pre/pro up front. I use a Denon 2900 universal disc player as my source. The sub is a HSU VTF3MKII (which I love) and the TV is a Hitachi 57S500. Pretty much all middle of the road stuff, but it gets the job done.

Georgev you have a very nice system, the kind that many of us would like to have, but it's a little unrealistic, for me anyway.

Thanks, RebelMan. Yeah, I lucked out on the rack. My sister-in-law was dating a cabinet maker while I was finishing my room and I was able to get my order in for the insert before they split. It has two doors on the back for access to the gear and cabling. The shelves are all adjustable. CD's store on the top shelves and DVD's in the two drawers below. My only regret is that there isn't more room for CD storage. The system on the right side drives the audio for the rest of the house. The crusty old receiver in there is soon going to be replaced with a 2-channel amp so I can use the 2nd zone controls on the pre/pro.

BTW how did you eventually get your pictures to upload?

I was wondering whether any of you would like to see what I have put up. I know, it's a preety common system around here, but I have some plaement questions that the pics will help me express.

If you don't like that, you can paint is in another warm collor (red for example) and it will be a liitle more light but at the same time dark so the image gets bether.

Hmmmm George, I see what you mean - white walls in a Theatre setup don't really go together.

In my Room, I have painted the ceiling a very bark brown, and the walls are a lighter shade (almost cream).

I know it doesn't seem like a big differrence but i just stops the light being reflected all over.

By the way - whatever colour you choose you must use SUPER MATT paint (I used Dulux "SUEDE") so this also help stop the light from scattering.

I also have some old movie posters framed to add to the cinema effect.

I'll take some new shots and send them to your E-mail address.

I've never heard any of the upper end B&W models so maybe I just THINK it sounds nice. But, hey, what i don't hear won't hurt me right? All I know is that pretty much every time I sit down to listen to some music or watch a movie I say "Wow. That is nice."

I would have never guessed the sound quality I get out of those CCM 80's. Talk about packing a punch. I just installed them with a custom made airtight enclosure to factory specs. B&W was very helpful!
