Ohhh, looks nice Will. You know, that's my 2nd favorite factor about B&Ws. No matter how many times you see a home setup, they always look so good!! Does your sub not rattle your speakers, dvd player, or tv with certain action movies?

      Thanks, audioqueso

No apparent rattling problems. I've always liked the esthetics of B&Ws. They do make setups look good.

RH Customs... I think Onkyo and Yamaha are pretty similar in terms of sound quality for 2ch listening. The yamaha maybe a tad brighter in sound though. If you like the yamaha, I'd stick with yamaha. If you want a little more neutral of a sound (to me it often sounded a slight bit lacking in detail) then trying an onkyo wouldn't hurt.

Now I can't speaker for that onkyo, the lowest models I've heard is the 797...so I don't know how the 630 would sound.

Will, love the setup!!! It always fascinates me how big the PB10-ISD looks when it's their "smallest" sub. I definitely like the foam supports for the center to angle it up. That was really a smart idea!

          A little movement

          will1066,

Very nice set-up, both AV and visually. I have a similar set-up with my center channel, the HTM1 (see attached picture). I wanted to comment on the placement of your center channel inside the cabinet. I would recommend that the tweeter face not be obstructed on any side if possible. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the top of the tweeter might be 'covered' a bit by the top and sides of the cabinet (even if the cabinet walls are not right on the speaker). This will add a bit of muffling of the sound. If possible, try moving the center into the room a bit. You might be surprised at what 1/2 inch or 1 or 2 inches can do to the sound at the upper end. I realize that moving the speaker out does expose it more (like if there are kids running around). However, I think you might be happy with the improvement (and it's FREE).

          Hope this helps.

Very old skool, but isn't that where everything started. Nice set up. Funny your 2.0 set up costs alot more than my DM 303's and ASW 300 together.

Cherie, sorry to hear your husband passed away. I would suggest checking on Audiogon for the used value of the above equipment. Also, you can offer everything for sale there or in the Pawn Shop on this forum.

Cherie, I sent you a PM, hopefully that will help some...

It's always a terrible loss to hear when anyone passes away...but it even seems harder when someone that really was into what we all here are into, leaves. There's not many of us.

I've been a fan of B&W since I first heard the DM601 in my college freshman year. After so many attempts with infinity and paradigm, I finally arrived to my last HT system....until next time .

                                          thanks,

is the quality as good as the photo? what the powercoat finish and shelving like?

did you take the wheels of it? model i saw while surfing the web had wheels on base but did mention something about a cone option.

is the quality as good as the photo? what the powercoat finish and shelving like?

did you take the wheels of it? model i saw while surfing the web had wheels on base but did mention something about a cone option.

                                            great looking stand

I'm very happy with the stands. Yes, they are powdercoated but they come with spikes instead of wheels.

                                              Jvc Hr-s6600u Vcr

                                              Hello Cherie,
I recently bid on a used JVC HR-S6600U VCR advertised on Ebay and was outbid in the last few seconds (the winning bid was $56). Would you be interested in selling me your same model VCR, which you listed in your message? I purchased an identical model VCR about 15 years ago, but it is now being repaired again for the 3rd time and I'm sure it's not going to last much longer. I have a "wanted to buy" ad listed with Ebay currently, for this model JVC VCR. Another Ebay member advertised the same model for about $99 recently (and got no bids on it), so I believe $50 to $100 is a fair price based on the VCR's condition.

Yes, the listening area is 10"x10" in a 15"x25" room and it can shake the house. My wife is redecorating, will probably expand 2 to 3 more feet.

                                                        Thanks

                                                          Updated pics!

Now that I have the McIntosh MCD201 SACD/CD player, I decided to update my pics. With the MA6500, I'm now 100% mac. This sounds so sweet with the B&W 703's (that some say are a bit harsh with Rotel).

When I got the furniture made, the shelf was installed at the good height for a big mac player under the integrated amp; let's say it was in my mind for a while. I was waiting for them to make a single-disc model. Hope you like the looks. Anyway it sounds great :B

I don't have a sub and as funny as it may seem, since I changed my CD player I have more bass (and the sweet spot is now much larger - no need for me to be perfect center anymore). Bass goes down to the lowest note of a bass guitar or double-bass and I don't listen to organs so I have all the bass I need, even for occasional movies.

IMO McIntosh and B&W is a match in heaven

I thought I would need fans hidden in the back, but everything runs cool with only the door open (or both if I push it). Macs don't make much heat and there is at least 6 to 8 inches over the amp and an inch under so convection does it's job. The top of the amp is only warmed-up to the touch, even at loud levels. My laptop runs many times hotter than that!

But I have 2 suggestions : the distance between speakers seems to be too little (at least 2,5 m) and, instead of that cabinet, it would be better a rack (if it's possible). In this way, the soundstage may be, also, better. (excuse me for my english)

The speakers are as far apart as I could. Check the previous post (the pic is larger), you will see that I'm limited in space (and function) until I move into a dedicated room one day. Same thing for the cabinet that also holds a CRT TV. At least I can hide it when I listen to music. One day I'll have a dedicated room with a rack and a flat screen on the wall or a projector; I agree that it might help for sound.

For now I sit on the carpet in the middle of the room if I want to treat myself with I nice sound stage. The true sweet spot is on the floor and not on the sofa that is stuck on the back wall. However, it is not as bad as it seems. In fact I don't think that a large cabinet affects the sound waves as much as our brain that can't imagine phantom sources other than in thin air. When I close my eyes, the sound stage is OK to me
