Hello,
I am interested in purchasing a new stereo system as I've never really had a truly decent system. I have been playing guitar for over 20 years so I have a more discerning ear than most.
I tested the following speakers yesterday, unfortunately they did not have the receiver I may (or may not depending on the replies) purchase to drive the speakers.
Speaker setup: Front - DM602 S3
Center - LCR60 S3
Rear - LM1
I'd be using the system 60/40 music/tv.
The receiver I am thinking about is the Yamaha RX-V2500, I'd be able to purchase this at @ $700. The salesman said that this receiver may be underpowered as he said the speakers are not really made for quote "Japanese" receivers.
If this is not an appropriate receiver, can someone point me in another direction in the same price point?
Technically, what should I be looking for in a receiver?
Can anyone point me to a website that can explain the concept of crossover and other "audiophile" terminology.
Thanks very much for any help!
Tony
