Baffle Thickness
Hello all. Been a while since I posted here as I haven't had any builds lately. I finally got back into the groove and am currently working on a pair of Zaph ZRT sealed bookshelves. I've got the boxes built and hope to veneer this weekend. For the baffle I am thinking about using some Paperstone...

Zaph ZDT 3.5 Center bracing?
I've had the parts for a ZDT 3.5 L/R/C for over a decade, and I'm finally getting them built.
Most of the build threads on the internet have dead picture links (thanks Photo-bucket!), so I can't look at any prior art for the bracing in the sealed center channel. All I can see is a group...

Zaph ZDT build
Hi Folks,
I have had most of the parts both towers and centre channel speakers for far too long and am finally getting around to making sawdust.
The Towers are 3.5way and centre 3 way.
My problem is I left buying some of the inductors until last, the towers use an 3.6mH Erse...

Zaph SR71, better late than never!
I'm a long time reader, and a first time poster. I appreciate the wealth of information on this site; it's very inspiring! My most recent build is the Zaph SR71; I'd been hoping to build these for quite some time and I finally got around to it. Here are some pics:

Building Zaphs ZA5.2 and ZA5.3c
Hi
This is my build thread of the Zaphaudio ZA5.2 (br-version) and ZA5.3c. I'll give a short description of my impressions of these speakers when finished. I usually build speakers in MDF, but this time I wanted to try something different. The baffle and the removable back panel was made...

Zaph ZA5-series crossovers and Madisound 103B board
I'm going to build a pair of ZA5.3s and a single ZA5.2. All will be for in-wall use. Zaph has the inwall crossovers published, but Madisound does not have a premade in-wall kit or crossover. You can refer to the following thread for background:

Next Project: floorstanders = Zaph Audio ZDT 3.5 build
Now that I've finished my SR71's, I'm ready for the next project. Actually, I wasn't planning on doing an upgrade so quickly, but I can't figure out a way to set them up in my room with the kids and the tv stand so I'm thinking this is a good excuse to do a set of floorstanders.
Don't...Last edited by oneplustwo; 25 March 2010, 16:01 Thursday.

Critique my proposed Zaph ZA5 based build
EDIT: Build finally started, jump down \/
It's been a month since my last "what to do" post. I figure it's likely time for another. :P This time I've got another month of reading under my belt.
I've come up with a plan, but I'd like a little reassurance that I'm...

Zaph ZA5.3 MTM in a Steel Tube?
Crazy idea time. I'm stealing this from a post at the PE Forum by Spasticteapot. He wondered about using steel tube for enclosures. I'm not sure if he did anything with it, because he had problems getting tube steel. I'm a structural engineer - I don't have problems getting tube steel. So, today I picked...

$500
I posted this on the PE board, but wanted opinions here also....
So, you have been into speaker building for a while. You have examined Zaph's site closely, as well as Tony Gee and Troels Gravesen. You enjoy 2 way stand mount speakers sans subwoofer.
You have...

Zaph's ZRT Part 2: The Translam Strikes Back
So I started this in a previous thread but thought I would start a new as the build has begun.
I started with this design
and now I've begun the build. I had the birch and MDF CNC'ed locally by Steve at Knight Toolworks. http://www.knight-toolworks.com/ he did...

Zaph ZRT build questions
I've posted this on another forum but thought i would post here as well since John is known to post on this forum.
I've built the cabinets with the exception of the baffles and the kit from Madisound will be here tomorrow.
Some pics of the cabs.

Zaph SR71 Build Thread...
So after weeks of agonizing over what speakers to build, I finally decided to go smaller and higher-end, and build the Zaph SR71's...
First things first: huge thanks and round of applause to Zaph for his enormous contributions to the DIY community, including this design. I have spent many...

Completed my nearfield Hivi B3N "mini arrays"
First post on HTguide, I post on the PE board a lot, hello!
These have taken forever to build, but they are finally done! My brother is very happy
They use the Hivi B3N drivers with zaph's filter , as well as a 2nd order high pass at 200hz to blend them in with the subwoofer (Roman's...Last edited by theSven; 07 July 2023, 10:54 Friday.
