    Zaph ZDT 3.5 Center bracing?

I've had the parts for a ZDT 3.5 L/R/C for over a decade, and I'm finally getting them built.

Most of the build threads on the internet have dead picture links (thanks Photo-bucket!), so I can't look at any prior art for the bracing in the sealed center channel. All I can see is a group of dashed red lines that indicate there should be some bracing.

Is the area behind the bass drivers intended to be open? Window paned? Is the area behind the mid/tweeter solid while the area behind the bass drivers is window paned?

If anyone has a picture they can share with me, I'd appreciate it. Speculation or wisdom of experience welcomed as well.

You can use window type braces or dowels. Either is fine.

This is basically based loosely on the PE finished cabinet designs that used to be available. The sections behind each woofer can just be holes routed in the otherwise solid center brace. Because the loading on that piece is main compression, MDF will work fine if you prefer. Given the inner cabinet width, the hole diameter could be on the order of 5" to 6". Scaling from the original drawing, that appears to be 6.5".
