A gift for many? - The Mechano23
I've been thinking of making a set of gift speakers for a while now, something I could give to friends and family that wouldn't break the bank and was reasonably simple to manufacture quickly. In lieu of designing something for myself I think I have settled on the Mechano23, designed by Xmachinik. His...

To Khan or not to Khan
Hi everyone, it's been a while, maybe you can help me out. Bear with me, my terminology isn't great. I'm not sure if I should move forward with my planned Khanspire build from ~2013 or pivot to something else. Back in 2013, I bought all the speakers and crossover components to build a left, right, and...- Bottom

Epique TV Stand (and other furniture)
As I'm wrapping up the bedside tables in the garage I have shifted my design focus to a multifunction bedroom TV stand. I've done some research on this at various websites (including this one) and have decided to go for it, despite several known design flaws. However, advice and input is always welcome,...

DIY Amplifiers - LJM modules
Here's a few things I've build recently, using mostly parts from AliExpress.
The LJM modules here are a a class AB BJT design based on Doug Self "blameless" topology, however are a unique design fine tuned by LJM using AP instrumentation.

Thanks for the year and thanks for Sven's work for HT Guide!
Times come and go, and sometimes things we cherish fade away. But HT Guide is not one of them, thanks to the continuing efforts of Sven Rajala!
Given my "brief" history with the forum, I have a lot of perspective on that...
So, while I'm hoping all the members and...👍 1- Bottom

My Translam project, 18 years later
My first Translam project which the original thread can be found in the Forum, and now 18 years later, and it stilts a smile on my face till this day and makes me wonder how I spent 9 months to build them almost daily after hospital shifts when I was in residency.

in TerminologyExploring Common DIY Terminology (work in progress)
Preface
I started this article with the intention of offering a guide to DIYers, mostly those new to the field, that defines and explains the terminology you often see in discussions on the topic of DIY loudspeakers. Now, I have plenty of learning to do myself, and am under no illusion that what I do know is complete and correct. Because of this, I want these articles to be living documents. By that I mean, I'd like the DIY community to offer input on each definition to expand and clarify... -

3D Printed Speaker Cabinet, Can we do better?
A coworker of mine found out I like speakers, and partake in the forum 😃. He shared a link with me that got me thinking can we do better with the designs shared on this site with the DIY community? My thought is yes, and this also would be fun to use the 3D printer for something other than printing...👍 1- Bottom

Baffle Thickness
Hello all. Been a while since I posted here as I haven't had any builds lately. I finally got back into the groove and am currently working on a pair of Zaph ZRT sealed bookshelves. I've got the boxes built and hope to veneer this weekend. For the baffle I am thinking about using some Paperstone...- Bottom

Eight inch woofer testing, report
Hello Everyone,
I am looking to build a speaker with an 8" woofer and a 4" tweeter in 1.5 cubic feet or less. These are the constraints, please don't make suggestions on what to try outside these guidelines.
Because I do not know which are the best drivers to choose,...👍 3- Bottom

Docero (again)
I built some Docero towers a while back, and while I was pleased with the result, I don't have room for them any more. After considering my options, I decided to pull the components and build a bookshelf set of Doceros.
The drivers were not going to come out easily, but after a bit of...👍 1- Bottom

A subwoofer journey...(CSS SDX12 + 3x APR12 Passive Radiators)
As far as build stories go, this one will probably not yield much fruit for a little bit. That said, I have some questions for the community regarding subwoofer design before making any further purchases. I already have 4x Dayton UM15-22 subwoofers expected this Saturday for another application...I'm...- Bottom

Minimum Phase and Accurate Crossover Simulation
Minimum phase for a speaker can be described of the phase of the frequency response of the speaker at it’s acoustic centre, or the phase without any excess phase or “time of flight” included. It can be calculated from the speaker’s frequency response using Hilbert-bode transform, or HBT. When comparing multiple minimum phase responses, we can say that the responses occur at the same point in space, ie. there is no physical distance between them. When measuring speakers and processing the...
