A big shout out to Sven, and thanks for all he's done for HT Guide!

Most of you probably haven't even noticed it, but Sven just completed backing up and migrating the forum to a new higher performance server- this is typical for how Sven rolls, doing heavy lifting behind the scenes and making stuff "just work!" for the rest of us.

At this point most of us take for granted the regular updates and improvements to the forum, but the old timers (those around more than three years ago when Sven bought the forum and took over the expense and responsibility) remember it hasn't always been like this...

It's uncertain times we live in, and good things and good people shouldn't be taken for granted, and I certainly don't in regards to what "masterofnone" has done for us!

I'm honestly not sure how you find the time Sven, you're as busy as anyone and still taking care of the site. Thanks man!

Thank you! It's a lot easier to stay on top of updates and upgrades than try to play catch up. The weekend just worked out with bad weather down in Sao Paulo and I took advantage of it to get the upgrade done. I had everything documented from the original migration and added new parts for this upgrade which made this a really quick copy/paste exercise. If I had not done good documentation it would have been another story and required building out a test environment to practice and document. I guess we could equate the document and migrate to measure 2x and cut once.

Good documentation is an integral part of functional literacy for project development and maintenance of all kinds- I spend a fair amount of time on that, documenting what I do and my reasoning as I go along, but then I can go back to something from 6 months ago or 6 years ago and get pretty well re-enaged in my thinking and direction at the time... I have to give a lot of credit to what I can do with Outline, Agenda, OmniFocus, and my data reserves in iCloud. And Pages and Numbers, of course, plus EasyDraw and Keynote!

And to be fair, HTG plays a pretty significant role- to explain stuff to someone else, one must have the data and fully understand it, and back when things were really up in the air with HTG, I downloaded web archive files (a Mac thing) for all of the key projects and discussions.
