I wish "they" would. I enjoyed the first one.

Me too. Didn't see it until earlier this year, and after all the negative public reaction, was expecting a lot less. Except for the ending, I liked it quite a bit and thought all concerned did a great job. Except for the ending.

I sorta like the first one but it bombed so bad at the box office that I bet that is the part that is causing them not to make another sequel.

I didn't see it, but wouldn't mind watching it. I haven't seen it for sale on DVD myself.

Actually, the Hulk didn't bomb at all in terms of box office figures but rather in terms of expectations. The Hulk cost $135 million to make and raked in $245 million worldwide. Nice little profit if it wasn't a super hero movie. The Hulk was a bomb in comparison to other super hero movies such as X-men and Spiderman which raked in $300 million (cost $75 million to make) and $821 million (cost $139 million to make) respectively.

Incidently, X2 made $406.5 million (cost $110 million to make), besting X-men considerably. Spiderman 2 is on a roll with $416 million already in the bank but cost a whopping $200 million to make.

              Cheers.

Actually, $245 million gross would not be a profit on a film that cost $135 million to produce but, I'm sure that the rentals have made it a profitable film by now.

Bob, out of curiousity, could you go into more detail on that? What extra costs are there other than distribution? Inquiring minds. . . .

The marketing and promotions costs for the Hulk were $35 million, so it still made a decent profit at the end of the day.
