    B&W Centre speaker

Hi, in the process of purchasing a new centre speaker was looking at the b&w htm61 or htm62 but I have read mixed reviews on this I currently running a pioneer sc lx85 Bose 601 floor standing and rear Bose cubes in the process of putting up a projector so I would like something to complement the rest of the audio I have. If any one has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

If you get the B&W speaker you'll want to replace the Bose speakers...

B&W is that much better than anything Bose has ever created.

You'll have upgraditis after getting the B&W center.

Either will work for you honestly... since nothing B&W has would be timbre matched (ie a sound on the B&W won't sound the same as on the Bose speaker), there's not much you can do to make them sound seemless. But either B&W center channel will work out very well for you.

As Pewter stated, the Bose and B&W combination will be problematic. It's extremely important that all speakers in a home theater/music combination be matched with the same series of speakers, using the same drivers. I would work towards that goal.

It will have a greater impact on music, IMHO.

However, not all of us are able to install five or more quality speakers at one time.
It is normal to upgrade in steps.

You will have the experience of multiple revelations & celebrations as you incrementally implement better quality gear in your pursuit of your ultimate audio goals.

        Enjoy!

Wait, we all can't afford nor have space for five or seven B&W 802Dis? Man, I wish someone had told me this before I started collecting. LMAO

Awesome Rich!!!! Congrats!!!!! You now face the hardest part of any audiophile acquisition process... the wife.

Just out of curiosity (and once you listen and get used to it a little more) but how does it match up with the Bose speakers in your opinion.

                  Modula MTM/Avalanche 18-Good Combination?
                  by Lurkalot
                  Hello there,

I am consdering building the Modula MTM for the fronts, along with the matching centre channel speaker.

I have an Avalanche 18 to build a sub with, but am not sure if using an MTM with dual 7" mid-woofers is likely to integrate well with a large sub...

I've finished (for now) some massive 4-way active dipoles for my mains, as captured in another thread. The speakers include a Scanspeak 9700 tweeter, a W18 (6.5") Seas Excel and two L26 (10") Seas.

I want to build a matching centre, which would also be dipole and use a Seas...

I am looking at another system for a friend and I wanted to get some feedback as to the combination of a Denon AVR 3311 and Monitor Audio RX8 Speakers. I haven't heard the combination yet, but I am trying to determine the best possible option for a bit of H/T but primarily...

According to the Maggie user forum Magnepan is about to release a new centre channel speaker system. There's a link http://www.magnepan.com/mc1/ht.html that isn't yet a hyperlink of their site and there's no text yet so I gather they aren't ready to release this just yet but it looks interesting. ...
