    Magnepan "annouces" new centre channel

According to the Maggie user forum Magnepan is about to release a new centre channel speaker system. There's a link http://www.magnepan.com/mc1/ht.html that isn't yet a hyperlink of their site and there's no text yet so I gather they aren't ready to release this just yet but it looks interesting.

    Andrew,
I saw that too. I was wondering if the 'system' is the first pic - as in 4 flapping speakers - or the second with just a single pair. These are not new if I recall, but are the MGMC1 line being displayed as fronts and center(s) simultaneously. They may be coming out with a new speaker but those pics mean as much as the text at this point, IMO. I would be curious, though, to see how they work as front speakers in 2-channel only as there will always be a wall against the outer edge of each of them (which ain't conducive to Maggie placement).

Crimson I thought the exact same thing when I saw them. Given both my "towers" that flank my RPTV this isn't an option for me but it is an iteresting idea non the less

        Magnepan's in home theaters...
        by Andrew Pratt
It seems there's a number of users on this forum that are rather fond of using maggies in their home theaters, myself included. I have had a number of people email me askig my oppinion on their benefits, drawback and the like so I thought I'd start a thread on the subject.

Planar dipoles have always been one of my favorite speakers. The primary issues creating a good DIY dipole planar system have been the cost and availability of drive units.

The B&G RD series drivers are $pendy, and need a higher than advertised XO point to sound their best. In addition...

Magnepan has announced a new speaker, the 30.7, at the top of their product line.

In a preview, after rhapsodizing over their sound, Jonathan Valin wrote:

Okay now that I've had them a little while I think I can comment on these speakers. I love them and can not see myself going back to box speakers again unless they are exotic's etc. What the Maggies excel at is vocals, acoustic instruments and just about anything that gives you the illusion of "air"...

        by HYM45
        Hi everyone,

Has anybody had an experience driving Maggie MG3.6/R with Parasound Halo A21? I'm planning to buy a new home theater system comprising Halo A21/Maggie MG3.6/R for front and Halo A51/Maggie CCR/MG1.6s for center and surround.
