Looks like Sony and Toshiba are in a race to see who can get the first 3D TV that will project a 3D picture without the need for glasses. They expect to be pricey. And I'm guessing the first ones out will have some growing pains. One of the items being discussed a lot is the expected narrow viewing cone. There will probably be other issues as well. I'm not in the market, but I have to admit an interest in just how this will come about and whether or not it will be nothing more than a niche market product.

All along, I've said that the 3D market will NOT become mainstream until it can be produced in good quality without the glasses. (i.e. holographic) Good to see they're at least moving in that direction.

That's very interesting. The research is further along than I thought it could be. Chris, hehe, remember the soundproofing and locking doors. :B.

by tboooeHi, I was wondering if any members have been able to create a holograpic, 3 dimensional soundstage with their 804S. I have been fiddling around with positioning and cabling trying to achieve this with mediocre results. I can create a very nice and wide soundstage but the center image is very flat...-

by jimmyp58After doing a ton of research on which pre-pro to get, I settled in on the 1098 after it just beat out the Anthem AVM 20. One of the chief reasons was the tft display.
