      Fellas, we're getting away from the topic of this thread. We're supposed to be discussing lower pricing of Blu-ray players not alternate hi-def formats. I'd suggest you start a different thread on that subject or else this thread will be locked.

          I read something about that a long time ago. I don't recall everything, but do remember something about how the blue laser is more costly than the red. I hope someone out there can answer your question, Santino as I am much more interested in this today than when i first read about it.

            I've heard licensing is like 1.2mill I read it somewhere not sure if its true or not. I think that 230 bucks for an Insignia player is a bit much.....

              well the blu-ray players are basically computers, vs standard dvd players which are not. software development aint cheap.
