Is there any single peice of HT gear that really changed your HT? For me its the Pronto by a mile. You see there have been a number of choices that I've made since getting the pronto that I might not have made had I not had the pronto so its becoming integral to the system. One such example is that way back in the dark ages (like 4 year ago) I had a single disc CD player that I wanted to replace with a multi disc model. I looked at the mega changers at the time but they looked cumbersome to use and accessing a single disc seemed a daunting task so I ended up with a 5 disc changer. Skip forward a year or two and I buy the pronto and everything starts to change. With the pronto and its abilites the mega changer now seemed like a great idea so off went the old 5 disc unit to be replaced with a 300 disc model...I've now got one click access to any CD in my collection and can run random modes all day long...my own personal radio station! Before the pronto I used to always get calls from my wife or visitors asking why they could hear the sound but weren't getting a picture etc now that they simply need to click "watch DVD" and it magially does everything for them I seldom get calls now. Having a good universal remote also changes the gear I've bought since I would never have bought the Sony TA-E9000ES if I had to rely on its remote. Its also made me rethink items that don't offer discrete codes so my next TV might not be a Toshiba if they don't get their act together.
