I am looking for some help. I was watching my home theatre and heard three small pops on the audo and lost all sound. Picture works, component switches and dispays are fine, just no sound. Would a software update solve the problem? Any ideas. My dealer doesn't have clue.

Sounds like the digital board may have went out. Check and see if you still have sound on the multi-channel inputs. Since you're dealer has no clue you may want to contact Rotel direct. There's nothing a firmware update will fix.

You could try unplugging your receiver for a few hours and then plug it back in, this is like a system reset, but it certainly sounds like a digital board failure.

As promised, HERE is V4.0 of the "Wish-list" for the Rotel RSP-1098 (Updated Sunday 7 March 2004).
