    Firmware update for RSX-1067

    Hello,

    I just purchased a new RSX-1067 (first Rotel purchase woo-hoo!) from my local dealer, and I was hoping one of the Rotel experts here could answer a question for me. According to Rotel's website, the most current firmware update is listed as 1.1.7 (for the RSX1056, RSX 1067, and RSP1068 ). Using the instructions on Rotel's website, I found my new unit unit has ver. 1.1.5 installed.

    Can anybody tell me when the 1.1.7 came out? I'm trying to judge how old the unit I got actually is. I don't mind too much updating the firmware myself, but I also don't want something that's been sitting my dealer's wherehouse for 6 months.

    Any info would be really helpful. Thanks.

      It was 2 or 3 months ago from memory. However Rotel builds its processors and amps in batches (e.g. 1000 of these, 500 of those) and then ships to distrubtors, who stock an dship to retailers. So it is quite common to get a unit that has been in stock in China / Japan or USA for 3 months or so. With processors it is common for the software to be out on the web for 2-3 months before the hardware arrives. I'd enjoy the unit... It's relatively young..

          Thanks for the repsonse. That makes me feel better. I did the update from Rotel's website....and all is good. I am definitely enjoying the unit right now. Thanks again!
