Does any one know of a website that I can download (free) test tones. I received a SPL meter and would like to check my system with it.

Hi Joseph. I'm not aware of any downloadable tone sweeps, but have you checked to see if your receiver or pre/pro has its own internal ones?.

Unfortunately no, my RX does have a noise test tone but nothing that sweeps through the frequency range. I'm looking foward to utilizing this new toy ( I received as a gift ) but I was unable to find anything, concerning free test tone download, through the internet and I really don't want to spend $20-$40 on a test tone cd just to use this SPL meter.

Click on the BFD link in my sig... there is a test tone link there that will take you to a host of tones you can choose from.

It was suggested to me by one of my sources that the DSP EPROM update in the latest RSP-1098 firmware release (plus the native EPROM code in the RSP-1068 and RSX-1067) fixed the issue that many of us RSP-1098 owners had with the Sub level in the Test Tone menu being 10 dB too low... -
I was trying to recalibrate my Denon 3910 but the test tones are not constant. They Buzz, stop, Buzz, stop etc.. Has anyone else experienced this issue. I do have the most recent firmware upgrade. I just recently set my rotel rsx 1057 with 5.1 surround. When I go
into the OSD menu and into the test tone setting I get all tones but
front left and right. I think it might have something to do with the
redirect setting in the defat setup menu which says... -
I have 1 question about the Test Tone on the centre channel.
When I use the SPL meter to calibrate my centre speaker using the internal pink noise from the 1066 at 75db, the centre is set at 0db.
But when I use the Test Tone from my DVD source pink noise like the "Video Essential"...
