    Marantz SR-8200 or Rotel RSX-1055??

Alright guys, I have narrowed my search to these two recievers here. I mainly listen to 2 channel audio and want clarity and great sound stage.

    Marantz SR-8200 = $949 +50 shipping

    Rotel RSX-1055 = $1299 + Tax here locally.

Please tell me which one will go great for my Klipsch Reference series

    Thanks!

Hi Ludwig, catchy moniker you've got there. Haven't I seen it somewhere before? :

Both of these are good performers for 2-channel, but I'd recommend the Rotel. A little more bang for your buck, plus you may have noticed that little support group next door at Club Rotel. . .

A friend of mine has the 8200 and while its a nice receiver its got a questionable amp section (see how poorly the similar 7200 did here)

Yeah Pr@, thanks for that comparison page. Especially after seeing how the RX-V1 did.

They are both very good receivers.I've played with both and with Klipsch speakers. To close to call but the Marantz does have a much nicer remote control.

I have the Marantz SR-8200 in my upstairs family room.
It's driving the Paradigm Studio 60's in the front.
Studio CC center and Studio ADP's in the rears.
I am extremely disappointed as it does not have enough power to drive all 5 speakers.

Dynamics are weak and the rear surrounds do not have any impact.
                    Adding seperates would help out.

Trevor, that's both suprising and disappointing to hear about the Marantz.

Ludwig, I think they're both good choices. But as one that's a little less educated than the others that have posted here on these two units specifrically, my recommendation would be to go with the Rotel. For the most part, you can't go wrong with Rotel.

                        Hi all,

Can anyone tell me their experience with a Marantz Sr8200 receiver acting as a processor only, compared to the Rotel 1066 or 1068 processors.

I use a Sony TAN9000ES 5 channel amplifier and have no use for the amplifiers in the Marantz receiver. I am not unhappy...

What's the word big birds? I am joining this forum per the recommendation of a reviewer from audioreview.com that read my latest review. I have some qualms about my purchase as I used to be a faithful Marantz owner and it looks like this is the right place to rock.

I have an older RSX1055 with original version of firmware. Recently hooked up two CB speakers and utilized the redirect feature in the on display menu. Initially the RSX1055 would reset the redirect back to front speakers. I called Rotel and was told to update the firmware. Then I called...

I have heard good things about the RMB1075, but I can't find one on the used market, and I can't afford to pay $1000+. Just wondered it there is a cheaper Rotel model that would work, or another brand that would pair well with the Rotel RSX1055.
