Your vote: Best looking SPEAKERS in the whole world

Thought these threads might be fun.

Sure performance matters but industrial design plays a role in our selection of equipment (probably a larger role than we'd like to admit).

    Rules:

No limitations on what you can pick.
You must have a link to an image.
    Only one vote per person.

    Here's my choice:

    Revel Salon

This was the toughest category for me. I chose a love it or hate it design too. I was partially swayed toward the Revel because it's one of the few esoteric speakers I've actually heard. Scary good.

Not sure what color combination I'd go with though. Actually, the Gems are on my "somewhat possible" future upgrade list.

I gotta go with the Vandersteen Model Five:

This is the basic finish... of course for this level speaker, virtually any finish is available...

While I don't have any pictures to show, if we are only talking looks, it would have to be one of the outlandish horn speakers I have stumbled across from time to time.
After years of listening to speakers I have come to the conclusion that the quality of sound from a speaker is inversely related to the amount of money spent by the manufacturer on cabinets. The more eye catching the cabinets the less quality the sound, the less money put into the cabinets the greater the quality of the sound. Great speaker manufacturers actually make their own speakers and crossovers and cabinets. Most expensive manufacturers buy off the shelf speakers, hire an expensive cabinet maker then throw it together with a bright sounding crossover that gets your attention for the short demo at the audio store, IMHO.
Can't agree that the Vandy 5 is beautiful, but it sure is beautiful to listen too.

Well, since I can't post a picture, I'll just put in my bid for the Mirage OM series. They are certainly not a speaker that one would consider as "worlds tops" however it's beauty in my eyes are the "holy grail"!

They are only boxes, but the rosewood finish on them is like no other speaker I've seen - Vienna Acoustics Beethoven's. The photo doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

Here's the speaker I'd nomnate for "best looking":

Ruth Klein is a leading media spokesperson for several Fortune 500 companies such as Ameritech and Bell Atlantic and is often quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and has recently been featured in Self-Employed Professional and Home Computing and penned an article in Family Circle Yearly Planner.

Great performance as a speaker and talk about "industrial design"! :>)

                          Burke

PS -- If I wanted beautiful modern sculpture, I'd get some Martin-Logans:

To listen, it would either be the Vandersteen 5's shown earlier in the thread (and they DO look nice too) or the Maggies that I am already enjoying every day.

I bought the Maggies because they come closer to bringing the musical performance into my home -- or transporting me to the performance site without actually travelling there -- than any other speakers I have heard. And because they do NOT draw attention to themselves visually. Not bad to look at, but to look at them is not why I wanted them.

What you DON'T say may be held against you...

No fair Burke. The thread title clearly says SPEAKERS plural. You posted a one of a kind center channel. You have to post a picture with a left and right pair.

Paul, we all know someone who uses 12-12" drivers in his sub too
Just quick off the top of my head...1-12" Shiva handles 650w...x12=7800watts of power handling.
If I wasn't so lazy...and late for work I'd look up some more specs

There is something about these.... practical yet exotic. They look better in real life by the way!
