    New Revel Ultima 2 Line

I'm surprised I haven't seen any posts about the new line announced by Revel.

    From Avguide.com: http://www.avguide.com/news/2006/09/...ma-2-speakers/

The Ultima 2 line consists of the four-way, six-driver Salon 2s ($22k/pair); the three-way, four-driver Studio 2s ($16k/pair); the three-way, three-driver, wall/stand-mount Gem 2s ($5k/each), and the three-way, four-driver Voice 2 center channel speaker ($8k/each). The Ultima 2s feature beryllium tweeters mounted in a newly developed wide-dispersion waveguide, plus titanium midrange drivers and woofers.

I for one am super excited to hear these speakers as they have been TOTALLY redesigned from scratch. Although I loved the look of the old Ultimas, I like this new traditional look better. Check out the Revel site for some more pics.

Look for them at your neighborhood dealer in early 2007.

oh, I forgot to mention to listen to the video clip from Kevin Voecks at avguide.com. It's about 7 minutes, but very interesting.

Not sure if these have shipped yet. Wondering if anyone's had a listen yet?

Maybe in your neighborhood, but not mine.

Thanks Kal! That's good news. I was kinda wondering why I haven't heard or read anything on them.

I read somewhere on one of the forums or blogs that you thought the Ultima 2s were one of the three top sounding equipment at CEDIA.

I can't wait to hear them.

I live in a pretty small town. Nearest real audio dealer is ~150mi, and I'm not even certain they carry the line.

Doesn't really matter anyway because they're way out of my budget - I was just messing with you guys. If I had a "spare" $22k, I'd probably have to go for a newer car or truck.
