Pioneer yanks chain, Dennon 5803 gets the nod..

I sealed the deal on a 5803 today. All paid for. March 11th arrival at the Tweeter i deal with. Pioneer's yanking my guy's chain. I'm done waiting on a 49TX. That order has been cancelled. I'm sure i'd be happy with either one but, the 5803 gets the nod now. Good idea Trev? :LOL:

I know you will be happy with Denon. I'm not at the 5803 level, just the junior 3801, but I couldn't be happier, and it replaced the top of the line Yamaha A3090 in my HT set up.

Chip, SGHT's (Stereophile Guide to Home Theater) 2002 Recomended Components list just came out and the big bad 5800 is one of their AAA-rated receiver/integrated amps. IMO, you made the correct choice.

Congrats Chip on the new Denon!

Though I am a little "Pro Elite", I know the Denons are very hard to beat. And as much as I enjoy the Elite's sound, features and looks, Pionner has been on the chopping block for reliabilty in the Elite recievers.

Let us know how the new beast sounds when you get it.

You should really enjoy the 5803.
It will be a step better than the 5800.
Just glad that we can upgrade the 5800's to the
5803's..

i got to listen to the pioneer vsx-49-tx last saterday a ultimate electronics they had it set up in there big theater with there dv-47a multi-player. with the klipsch rf-7 towers they had sacd cd going in 2 channel and all i can say is awesome it was set up right to . you cant ask for more, what can i say it sounded just as good or better than separates, leaning towored better than all i can say is its the receiver to beat now.

All i can say guy's, is... it's a good freak'n thing my B&K 307 (third one) is working great! Lol.. Acceptance is the key here. Hahahaha.. I accept the things i cannot change. It'll get here... eventually. 8O
