    Denon 3802 & 4802

    Rumours of these receivers with DPL2.

    Also rumours that the 5800 will not be upgraded in September, but will wait until next year for a complete board upgrade.

    Anyone else heard these rumours or have any press releases or more concrete information?

      I've heard those rumours too...I'm not sure the 5800 will get a new board replacement though...by then they'll have released another model. Unless of course they do both? One interesitng thing I did hear was that the new Denon's should include a flexible bass management system for the first time!

          Well the people I've talked to all tell me that the regional sales reps for Marantz are being VERY tight lipped about possible new features so we may be hard pressed to find anything out

                  Reports are that the 2802 and the 3802 will be 7-channel receivers. The 3802 will have DPL2. I'm not sure about the 2802. No word on a 3302.

                  I wish they'd come out with a 3302, because all I need is 5.1 and the better heat dispersing design of the 3801, and would like the DPL2 for my VHS tapes, and the many 2 channel Video and Music DVD's that are coming out. But, I don't need 7 amps for the one power supply.

                      This was pulled off the Denon Canada website.
                      Product upgrade was to be available starting March 15.
                      I will go through this process at the end of April when we move to the new house.

                      Denon 5800 and Seperate Amplifiers

                      Hi!,

                      There has been much discussion as of late on whether to invest in a 'Seperates' set-up consisting of a dedicated Pre/Pro and seperate amplifiers or a Flagship receiver such as the Denon 5800, B&K 307 ,and Onkyo 989.

                      Opinions here tend to sway in both directions...

                      Just wanted to pop in and say that after having owned the Denon 5800 for about a month now, I have come to the conlusion that this is the best receiver I have ever owned. I love it!(That was an easy decision. )

                      @ 170 watts per channel,,I now understand what Headroom...

                      Just wondering if there has been any solid confirmations on the previously announced DPL 2 upgrade for the Denon 5800.
                      There seems to have been a few rumors around lately, so just curious if an actual date has been established plus a cost of the upgrade.

                      as per earlier post asked rotel dealer today differances between rotel 985mk1or2 and newer 1075 as regards sound quality,
                      his reply 1075 was (1075 is a more refined sound than 985)

                      also asked wether the 985 was any better (overall than the denon 3802 internal amps) dealer was...
