Please, your pre/processor recommendations with good HT AND stereo performance, which seems to be where many processors have trouble.

I am also looking for a PRE/PRO, but good HT performance is more important for me since I will use an analog pre/amp with HT bypass.
I have been looking at the Marantz AV7005 which seems to be a good buy. Of course you can go and spend a lot more... SSP-800 etc.Main System:

I didn't test a bunch of units head to head as it's pretty darn hard for me living somewhat in the sticks. But, I followed a recommendation, bought a Marantz AV7005, and I'm happy with the performance all around. It's favorably reviewed and has few, if any, quirks. There are some things which are impossible to know, but it is impossible to know which things these are. :scratchhead:

I just picked up a used Marantz AV8003 that I like very much. It lives in my dedicated basement theater and does double duty for music and HT. It has a lot of great features such as two input-assignable DC triggers, direct mode that bypasses all digital monkey business for critical music listening, and is highly configurable.
I don't have any other brands to compare it with, but its easily the best of the three Marantz preamps I own (AV-600 and AV-9000 are the other two I own).
