    Processor recommendations

Please, your pre/processor recommendations with good HT AND stereo performance, which seems to be where many processors have trouble.

I am also looking for a PRE/PRO, but good HT performance is more important for me since I will use an analog pre/amp with HT bypass.

I have been looking at the Marantz AV7005 which seems to be a good buy. Of course you can go and spend a lot more... SSP-800 etc.
    Main System:
    B&W 801D
    Emotiva USP-1 Pre-Amp
    Chord SPM-650 Stereo Amp
    Oppo BDP-105
    Squeezebox Touch

    Second System:
    B&W CM7
    Emotiva UMC-1
    Emotiva UPA-2
    Oppo BDP-83SE
    Grant Fidelity DAC-09

A couple of K, stereo and HT. I'm thinking Rotel 1570, but perhaps there's something else someone can recommend?

I didn't test a bunch of units head to head as it's pretty darn hard for me living somewhat in the sticks. But, I followed a recommendation, bought a Marantz AV7005, and I'm happy with the performance all around. It's favorably reviewed and has few, if any, quirks.
There are some things which are impossible to know, but it is impossible to know which things these are. :scratchhead:

I just picked up a used Marantz AV8003 that I like very much. It lives in my dedicated basement theater and does double duty for music and HT. It has a lot of great features such as two input-assignable DC triggers, direct mode that bypasses all digital monkey business for critical music listening, and is highly configurable.

I don't have any other brands to compare it with, but its easily the best of the three Marantz preamps I own (AV-600 and AV-9000 are the other two I own).

i have had the Marantz AV7005 for about a month now matched up to a Emotiva UPA-7 and must say its was a positive upgrade from my mid-line Denon AVR for sure... i cant compare to much besides that and my Onkyo AVR though...
