Hey all. ive been looking into preamps for use with my power amp for musical uses, and dont know which one i could use with my system. any ideas?

I currently use the RC 995 preamp. Its a very musical preamp that doesn't lack a lot compared to high end preamps I've heard. But I'm wondering about upgrading to the RC 1590. Any comments on the 1590? Is it too very musical or does it lack compared to their older preamps like my 995? I need tape inputs... -
have denon 3802 rotel991 and 985 power amps, not really getting the improvement i was looking for rotel powers vs 3802 with 2 channel sterio with b&w cdm1nts, rather than sell denon at a loss and purchase say 1066 processer, all more money,

i am going ot purchase a 1080 and a 1095 to power a 7 chanel system.
I need to pick a preamp and I was considering the 1068 or a Denon 3805.
I would use the Denon receiver as a preamp, and possibly use the amps in the denon to power some speakers else where in the house.... -
You know, sometimes you know right away good things are happening. In this case, there is no mystery... I've seen the other reviews... I've seen John Atkinson's measurements on Stereophile...
