    Amp question

I'm having a dedicated electrical line installed soon for my B&K Reference 200.5 amp. Should I have the electrician install a 20 amp line or just a 15 amp line? Is this amp designed to work on a 20 amp line? If so, why does it have a regular 15 amp plug? The owners manual states it is important that it is plugged into " a dedicated line". Thanks for any info.

According to the specs, the max current draw is 17.5 Amps... can't share a breaker with another component due to the current requirement so it seems...

Oh, and the electrician can install a 20 amp breaker, proper Romex (12ga I think), and an outlet that is rated for 20 amps (but will accept a 15A plug). He/she should know what to do...

Agreed. Put in the 20A circuit. I had two dedicated 20A circuits run just to the equipment racks in my previous theater, and have four in my current equipmet room.
Definitely want the power units getting all the juice they need.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.
