    Subwoofer for 5.1 Configuration

    Hi All,

    I've decided on my speakers, but cannot pick the subwoofer.

    B&W 685 Bookshelf Front
    B&W 686 Bookshelf Rear
    B&W HTM62 Centre


    I've narrowed down a list of subwoofers.

    SVS SB-12 Plus $1,500.00
    SVS PB13-Ultra $3,000.00
    Velodyne SPL-1200R $2,050.00
    Velodyne SPL-1500R $3,000.00
    Velodyne DD12 $3,750.00


    The system is to be used for 90 HT 10 Music.

    I'm favoring the PB13-Ultra.

          the servo/digital controls on the velodyne's will blend well with the b&w speakers. grab the dd12 for the extra impact, plus you can control the servo for extra deep extension with little distortion

              Pros and Cons I can think of:

              1. SVS is $500 cheaper
              2. Velodyne is smaller, SVS is double the size

              I have 800D fronts with N802 rear speakers and an HTM2D center. I just purchased Velodyne DD12 (wanted to go 18" but wife said no more large speakers! 8O ). For HT, I have a Denon 5085. How should I set up my speakers? Should I go Large on all speakers Or, should I set the speakers (some or all)...

              My old Velodyne F1200 started rattling and would drop out a lot. Found that the edge had holes that caused the rattle but not the drop outs.               Velodyne DD-12 to complement B&W 600 series or something else?

              I've been running my 5.1 setup based on the B&W 600 series (604's, LCR600, DS6) without the .1 for a little while and I'm considering getting the DD12.

              Anybody using this sub?

              Should I be looking elsewhere?

              Is it a consensous that the DD12 is better...
