    IR Emitters

    Hi all,

    Dag nabit, I just vacuumed up a dislodged infrared emitter; sucked 'er right out of the cabinet and eviscerated it. This particular IR emitter connects to a PhastLink via mini-phone plug. Can I replace with any third-party IR emitter? Or, must I look for particular specs (e.g., "frequency"). Or, are these proprietary; and if so, does anyone know the AMX/Phast/Panja part number?

      Any Xantech style emitter will work fine. All the new overpriced AMX emitters have phoenix plugs on the end anyway.

              Yup... I've never seen any differences in IR emitter connectors.

                  I have the RSP1068 and an RCD965BX cd player which has its IR reciever blocked by a wood strip in the middle of the glass door that my gear is in. I know that the 1068 can 'relay' IR to other devices via it's EXT IR connection.

                  My question is can I use a simple emitter that will be placed...

                  Really digging my new toy, the 15” Viewsonic Airpanel very nicely displays DVD Lobby, and with a few modifications I now have complete automation of my entire HT system via RS232 (for all DVD controls and movie selection) and IR for all other System macros from a remote blaster (USBUIRT).

                  Searching the forums for "AMX" returns zero hits, and a message: "The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : amx"
