Sure but you can also screw it up the same way.

Yes, you can definitely do that, however Kal eluded to what could happen if you're not technically inclined and/or merely experimenting. It would also void the warranty. I had a Rotel RB-1080 amp internal upgrade performed by Rotel, where they replaced some resistors and capacitors, etc.
On a separate note, I've been watching the Rotel RSP-1098 mod forum, replacing boards with better components (opamps, etc.), but my skills have deteriorated as well as my finances, so I'm not willing to take that chance. If you feel confident I'm sure you can upgrade certain components, just make sure you have the proper schematics, tools, and that you utilized prior tested replacement components for your equipment, before proceeding.
We also have a Mission Impossible DIY forum for answers to specific questions. Hope this helps.
Peace and blessings,

If by technically inclined you mean possessing sound knowledge of basic electrical theory and experience working with electronic circuits, knowledge of the precautions necessary when handling semiconductor devices, excellent soldering skills, etc., that's fine.Originally posted by jpvnnvpjYes i does help thanks alot for your input. i have a rotel rb 1070 and i am technically inclied, al check does sites out thanks again.
If you can't say yes to all of the above then as advised by others here, attempting mods yourself can do more harm than good. The fact that you have to ask about making mods leads me to suspect that some of your answers may be no.
I just completed what you can consider minor upgrades to my Classé CA-300 amp and can tell you based on my experience with the project, that its was not for the inexperienced or faint-hearted.Last edited by Glen B; 31 August 2007, 04:47 Friday.

by OldtexasdogI have been looking at a Carver M 10t with the MKII upgrade. Has anyone had any experience with this amp? Will be driving a pair of B&W 705s 2 channel only for music with a Denon 2808 for the pre.
Thanks as always-
